Default What would you name your house?

I have been reading blogs, and sometimes the authors give their houses names.

If you were to name your house, what would you call it?

I just asked hubby this question and he says "Nostrum domus". Which according to him means Our Home.

I'd love something like tanglewood, something that sounds intriguing...but i can't come up with a thing.

My house would have to be named Freddie - cause it is a nightmare and Elm Street is only one block over.

Here in the UK it's common to name your house. Often when filling in an online form, there will be a box that says "house name or number".

I think that is so quaint!! I love it. I call my home "Rose Cottage" because I have rosebushes in the front that I love. I have yellow with pink tips, lavender, and a deep red one.

LOL, I name just about everything but never thought of naming the house Hmmm, I'd say her name would be something wicked like Jezebell, every time we go to start a project something else goes wrong (broken pipe, soffit falling off, leaky roof, etc).

And yankeemom, our last house was a giant old victorian farm house, we love it but it was a BEAR to heat, it didn't even have insulation in a lot of the walls!

Our farm does have 2 farm names, one for the horses and one for the cattle.

I would name my house Rosemary Hill. We live out in the country on a hill and I have planted Rosemary around my home and it stays green year round because we live in a sub-tropical climate.

Our is called Luau Gardens. Friends named it that several years ago when we started the semi-annual garden parties. We even have a surfboard mounted on the fence that says "Luau Gardens". As you can tell our whole theme inside and out is tropical gardens.

It is a BEAR to heat...unfortunately. I'd like to blame it on the fact that it's three stories high, but strangely enough the two top floors are THE COLDEST places in the house. Thank goodness for the woodstove and Budget Plans

I think I would have to go with Whispering Willows. We have planted 3 globe willows in the front and someday when they are larger, I hope to hear the wind whispering through them.

The Pineapple House, as there are 6 pineapples etched into the 6 windows on each side of the front door. The downstairs is painted yellow and there is a large pineapple etched into the mirror that goes across one of the dining room walls. In colonial days, pineapples symbolized welcome hospitality.
