I am very happy to have followed a link to this site. It is exactly what I have been looking for.

What interests you here? Money saving tips, diy advice, budgeting and shopping.

How many kids? Ages? Two sons ages 18 and 16; one daughter age 9

Tell us about yourself. I left a full time career to be at home with the kids. I now work part time for the school district. I am married to a pretty great guy who respects me and my decision to give up a $20.00 an hour job for a part time at $9.50. I have had to learn to be frugal to make up for the income loss but I still can do sooooo much better. I have learned to do many things around the house and in the kitchen that saves us money. I have managed to knock down my grocery expense to about $300.00 a month for the five of us, doing my own gardening and home repairs, and shopping on a budget (almost). I have become quite good of getting things my family needs or want at a discount like shopping off season, planning events well in advance for price comparisons and sales, buying in bulk on items that we will need throughout the year like school supplies, finding cheap ways to give nice gifts, and entertainment.

Do you own any pets? 5 cats and 2 dogs

Interests and hobbies? I love to read and learning new ideas and skills. I am fascinated by the old ways of running a home and taking care of family. Baking bread, quilting, sewing, growing own produce are becoming lost arts. I would like to grow my own fresh herbs and less store bought items.
