Default Question for you hardcore Walgreens and CVS shoppers

I'm wondering....if they don't have the items on the shelf that are advertised as FAR do they have to issue you a raincheck? I found most of the items yesterday but the Pantene Ice was gone, I didn't ask but was wondering about this.....??? I also wondered if they substitute in such case?

I would think that they should give you a raincheck unless it specifically says no rainchecks issued in the ad. I ask for rainchecks all the time now, and have not been turned down. I get bummed when I go to a store for a good deal and they are out of the item.

So far I have found Walgreens to be great about issuing rainchecks. I have not had to ask at CVS yet. But in some cases where it says "while supplies last" I would think they might not.

I'm pretty sure I've read that CVS does rainchecks. And thinking back, I think I might have actually seen a stack of rainchecks near the register not too long ago when I was shopping. I would definitely ask.

Our Walgreens is great about giving rainchecks. Not sure about CVS, but I think they do, too.

I'm wondering about this too, Lisa. Specifically, does CVS still issue Extra Care bucks for the sale item if a raincheck is redeemed later?

    walgreens does issue rainchecks.
when it comes to specialty items, like at christmas time though, merchandise that comes it is not basic merchandise, and so there's no way of ordering more. -- alot of managers at walgreens will sub another item (usually the wag brand) for something that is out. if they do this though, you wont be able to use non-wag coupons (manfu coupons).

CVS does issue rainchecks and the last time I knew they have no expiration date which is a real plus. They don't call you like some stores to tell you that the product is in but without an expiration date that doesn't matter anyway.

I believe CVS will offer you a raincheck, but not on while supplies last items. Also, if you are trying to get this item because of the ECB's, you may not get the ECB's when the product comes in. It all depends on how your cashier writes out the raincheck. I have heard that some write on the raincheck that you are to receive $2 ECB's for example and when the item comes in, they automatically take it off at the cashier like a coupon because if it was a last week's ECB item. It won't print at the cash register because it isn't a current ECB's item. I hope this makes sense.
