Thanks so much...it is always nice to receive positive feedback. I have always used a simple sugar cookie with royal icing ( and some fondant as well) to decorate cookies. I recommend the website, www.cakecentral.com as they have excellent recipes. tutorials on decorating cookies and cakes, as well as countless pictures of cakes and cookies for all occasions. (I have a lot of my cookies posted there as well under my name, Yankeegal) I also use clipart, stickers, greeting cards, wrapping paper, magazines, calenders, napkins, etc... for ideas for cookies as well. Anytime I see a cute picture, I start wondering how I can make it into a cookie. There are countless cutters as well, and a lot of the sites that sell them have an example or two of how to decorate them. Once you get started, it is addicting.

You do a wonderful job. I am also going to check the site out to see more of the cookies you've made.

I think your cookies are very cute! I know how time consuming that is, so I applaud you.
