Does anyone have or know what to do for a gangalion cyst? I have one on my foot and I dropped the clothes basket it on it. (OOOUCH) Now it's all swelled up. Any suggestions other than cutting off my foot?

My daughter had one of those and it eventually went away. The dr. told us it's referred to as a "Bible bump". It was called that b/c in the old days they'd lay the hand or foot out, take a huge Bible and whack it with it. It would burst and heal up...
Doesn't sound like a lot of fun to us, we never did that but other than that or surgery to take it out I don't think there is a lot to be done. You might take some aspirin for inflammation....otherwise

At our office, the doctor puts a needle in and drains the fluid out. He also said they can be smashed with a book, but he has never done that to any of our patients!

I have what I call traveling cysts. They aren't happy to just stay in one place. They go from hands to feet and yes it does hurt when you bust one cause I hit one on my hand with the door. OUCH! Thanks for the info

My cyst didn't respond to the book cure - lol. They tried to drain it without success and ended up cutting it out.

My Dh has one on his wrist. The doctor I work for tried draining it, and injecting it with some cortisone. It went away for awhile, but it seems to be coming back. Maybe we'll have to try the book.
I'm sure Dh will go for that one!

My boss had one in the palm of her hand. She had it surgically removed. That book method sounds very painful.
