Well hi there fellow frugalites!
Hello hello hello,
It feels so good to be able to post. I have lurked a long time now but wasnt able to register on the public library computer.
I found this place just surfing around looking for economical meal ideas. I dont know anybody yet but feel like I know soooo many of you as our interests and challenges are similar.
I have 3 great kids, 2 daughters and a son. My oldest daughter is away at college and I miss her terribly. I am a SAHM but in the process of attempting to write up a resume as we desperately need some more income. Its pretty blank and Im struggling with it but thought i would check out the unemployment office for some tips. I am willing to try anything but am hoping to find a waitressing job because of the tips.
All you ladies keep on stocking up your pantry. My pantry was a lifesaver for us when my DH lost his job last year. We cleaned that out, as well as all our emergency funds but we were able to sell our home before the bank took it. It was several month before DH got another job and it is all the way across the country. I find myself very homesick and struggling.
We are barely making ends meet here and live on a very restricted budget hence my desire to find something even parttime. Of course DH hates the idea is pouting daily about it. He likes having me here fulltime looking after the children and Im sure it will be a big change when everybody has to help out.
Littlemotherhaywood--my DH sounds like yours. He has no desire to save and every extra cent we get hes out spending it on something stupid. Its like he has never grown up or maybe its because we went so long without that he feels like he deserves it. I dont know I just know i really wont feel at peace until I restock a pantry and have some money in the bank again. (we lived closed to 10 months without any income coming in- just off the pantry, the freezer and the EF)
Well I have probably taken up more than my share of space but i sure am happy to get to know you all.
PS --I am very computer illiterate so it may take me some time to use these great icons and smiley faces.
