Default I don't know why I'm so nervous!

I haven't worked outside the home in nearly 5 years, but lately I've had the 'itch' to do something. The problem is, I have no clue what I want to do. Yesterday I decided to check out volunteer positions in my area. One that really interests me is for a women's & children's shelter about 15 minutes from my home. I emailed the coordinator, she got back to me right away and we have a meeting set up for next Monday at 11 a.m. I'm excited, but soooo nervous.

You will be great Joy. I think it is wonderful that you are volunteering and what a great place to offer your help too.

I am in charge of the volunteers at the nursing home where I work... let me tell you, if that shelter lady is anything like me, she will be THRILLED to see you. Volunteering is a wonderful thing to do, and the fact that you care enough to be nervous about doing it tells me that you will be a good & reliable volunteer. I hope you find the perfect spot to share your talents!

Good Luck you will be much appreciated I am sure. I know about being nervous though when you start something new. I recently just finished volunteer training for our local Sexual Assault Crisis Centre and was worried the whole time. Now I love it I am not on the "front line" like answering phones etc.. But I do work in the office and on several other committees and am loving it. I feel like I am really making a difference.
