Nintendo Wii
My son has been asking for this for xmas and I know nothing about it. Does anyone have one and care to explain to me the good and bad points about this system?

The system just came out today so you will have to wait and see what people say about it.

I work at a software development company and consequently, we have a bunch of young, male programmers. I was talking with them today and a bunch of them on my team went and bought it yesterday and they love it. I plan on buying it for myself, but not til after the first of the year.

~We pre-ordered ours and picked it up yesterday. If you haven't pre-ordered one you will not get one before Christmas. We're having a great time with ours though!(sorry, not trying to rub it in!)~

~Well, DH pre-ordered on the first day, back in June. Each store in our area got between 2 and 8 units. I DO know that a couple million more systems will be available in 2 weeks but again, only 2-8 units per store. I hope they call you!~

I'm not a big fan of video game systems, but most reviewers says that the Wii is better than the PS3. I've seen a lot of positive articles on it. Apparently the game feel is much better designed, although the graphics for the PS3 are slightly better.

Too funny. Most of the reviews I've read said the ps3 was superior. We want the wii because the ps3's price is way too inflated and we already have ps2. We like that the controllers are more innovative too.
At any rate, I think xbox 360 will sell a ton when it has so many available games and is readily available. If you'd like to help support Frugal Living by Sara Noel, my syndicated column, e-mail, write, or call the managing editor at your local newspaper and ask them to publish it in print or online. Our local Game Stop/EB Games is supposed to get 100 Wii's each week from now until Christmas. I don't think they will be as hard to find as the PS3's.
We aren't in the market for one, our son asked for the XBox 360.
You can go to www.amazon.com and read all the them as well as about 60 reviews already for them. People seem to like them.
Good luck and have fun!

All I can say is Good Luck...I posted this a couple of months ago that my 13yr old son wants this actually its the only thing he wants for xmas...I have been waiting for the release date, preorders you name it... except for camping out at the stores waiting in long lines..Everytime there was a preorder they sold out...I finally got a preorder at Walmart.com for the Bundle pack w/8 games at $728.00..before everyone chokes at the price each game averages $50.00 a piece so the Bundle was right on with price with everything other than the s/h fees..to make a long story short little by little I was getting emails with notices on the games being delayed so I called the CR and she told me most likely there was a glitch and my order would be cancelled automatically if the games weren't restocked in 10 days..which ment since it was a bundle pack my whole order would be cancelled..I was not a happy camper this morning..fast forward I have been reading the Amazon.com site (this morning after hearing the bad news from Walmart)and got a heads up that JcPenny.com had just the systems for sale @ $249.99 that includes the Sports game also... I got lucky and was able to buy one however it won't be here for a couple of weeks or more...just as long as I get it before xmas I will be happy...I cancelled my Walmart order...I really didn't think there would be such a hard time getting this..boy was I wrong..they sell out within minutes..I hear that there will be plenty of the systems available for the Holidays but I wasn't gonna take any chances on not being able to get it..Again Good Luck...
