Oh good grief!
So, dd and I went to Walmart for a few things. As I am pulling out of the parking space a guy in an SUV was waiting for me to pull out (very close, he wouldn't back up). Needless to say, I scraped the car next to me! I pulled over, went over to the car. Meanwhile the guy and lady in the SUV are looking at me like I just committed murder, she went in to have the owner of the car paged, the guy "Stayed with me so I didn't take off"!
In the meantime, dd started crying, because she thought we were in trouble!
Anyway, the guy for the car came out and was really nice, we exchanged info, etc...
Now I just have to wait for dh to get home, so I can tell him

Sorry that happened to you, what a nervewracking experience!
“When you get to the end of all the light you know
and it's time to step into the darkness of the unknown,
faith is knowing that one of two things will happen:
you will be given something solid to stand on,
or you will be taught how to fly.” - Edward Teller
“Our Earth is degenerate in these later days;
there are signs that the world is speedily
coming to an end;
bribery and corruption are common; children no
longer obey their parents;
every man wants to write a book and the
end of the world is evidently approaching.”
— From a translation of an inscription on
an Assyrian clay tablet, circa 2800 B.C.E.
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference.

Sorry that you had to go through that. Doesn't it make you furious when someone pulls right up behind you wanting your parking place? It makes me see red, I will pull right back in the parking place and turn my car off until they drive off. I don't mind someone waiting a decent distance back but when they pull so close that you can hardly get out of the spot because they are afraid someone else will get the parking place, I make sure that they don't get it.

I do the same thing Katy said. I pull back completely into my spot, cut the engine and make calls on my cell phone until the jerk breathing down my back leaves. If the other driver gets confrontational I just smile sweetly and say "I don't use my phone while driving. This is an important call. So sorry"
I just cannot stand rude drivers who practically block you in! For the SUV to crowd you was beyond rude. So sorry you had this happen.

Thanks for the support! DH wasn't even upset! DD is all calmed down now. Next time I'll just sit there!

Sorry this happened, Julie. The people in the SUV sounded like jerks! I also hate it when people crowd me and expect me to somehow get out of the space. I think sitting there is a great idea.

I would have done the same thing, pull back in!
I'm so sorry this happened to you! And I'm glad your dd is calmed down now!

What a day! At least dh wasn't upset. I drive in Kansas City traffic daily and I know it isn't as bad as other places in world, but in my world it is pretty bad. I can't believe how rude people are with all the tailgating, hand gestures and putting on makeup and the cell phones. Every morning I listen for traffice so I can avoid any really bad tie ups. If I am in a parking lot and someone is waiting on my space, if they don't give me enough room to get out, i cut the motor and sit and wait.

I'm so sorry you had to go through that! At least your husband and the owner of the car were nice about it.
