Help!! There are bleach stains on my carpet!
Does anyone know how to get rid of a bleach stain in a carpet?
Our carpet is a beige colour, and we have 2 stains about the size of 1/2 deck of cards in our hallway. It mustve happened when I was carrying the bottle of Javex to the bathroom to clean the tub.
We rent our apartment, and we'll be moving out in March, so unless I can get these stains looking like they never happened, we're going to have to spend the $$$ to replace the carpet!personal loan 900/15000

I've brushed on fabric paint when I've done that to my clothes. Worked pretty well.
You might also try dabbing some Rit dye.
Before I did either, I'd probably try out a test spot behind a door or some other "hidden" spot.
Good luck!

You can have a local carpet place come in and match the spot with a new piece of carpet. My sister had brand new carpet and her daughter left the iron on and burned it......... it cost her 30 bucks for them to patch it with a remnant piece, you can hardly tell its there. I would go that route than the die or fabric paint. A small square should not cost that much. It is still cheaper than a security deposit or replacing whole carpet.

You might try having it patched using a scrap from the inside of a closet. We did this with a house that had horrible stains in a few places that would not come out! The only problem with overdying it is you could make it worse. I would try to get a professional opinion before you start trying to re-color it yourself....a hallway is pretty noticable. It might cost you 50.00 or so, but that's not bad compared to would you *could* have to pay! Or, you could let the landlord know now, and see what they recommend you do.

Some carpet cleaning companies offer carpet dyeing. You may want to call a few to see if they offer the service and the price. I wouldn't try to dye it myself though.

My MIL tried this, but it was very noticeable since the carpet they were trying to fix had normal wear, while the closet carpet had zero wear and looked brand new.
I'm thinking you could try coloring first (since it would be so cheap) and if that didn't work..you could opt for the professional patch work.
I'd definitely call around and make sure you have someone who offers the patch service first, though.

I would recamend that you contact a local Carpet store you think highly of and call them and ask if they can recamend a service that does dye to match or even see if they sell rements and see if you can match the color that way it may cost you between 75 to 100 dollars but this would be much less than your deposit.
