Default Whats the most you ever saved on one shopping trip using coupons?

If I tell you,you wont' believe me I'm sure......I am a couponqueen...have been for years now.. The most I ever saved in one shopping trip was $728.00
and that was free razors..they were on sale for $1.99 and there was $2.00 coupons attached to each package..I ended up with 1000.00's of them and didn't even have to pay tax on them...

The second best savings in one shopping trip was: $648.00 and I paid around $67.00..the store was trying to bring in more business so they had 6 triple coupons up to $1.00 in their store flyers ...but on the last day of offering the triples it was unlimited. Prior to the last day of the triples they were doing this for 2 1/2 months I spent a around $500.00 and saved over $5000.00...hard to believe I know..LOL..I was like a kid in a candy store I always used up to at least 30-triples a day or more (the store was on my way to and from work at the time.. I worked 6 days a week at 3 different jobs.. I'll tell you we ate like kings..I stockedpiled everything that was non-perishable and made sure I matched the $1.00 coupons to items that were on sale that I knew I could get the overage from ..to get other items that there wasn't coupons for like milk, fresh veggies and so on...

I would love to hear your stories..

The most I've ever saved was $78.43. Our stores only double to 99 cents and do set and enforce limits. Limits are generally 2 or 4 of each item and you cannot use multiple coupons for one item. We don't get to go hog-wild here.

The most I saved was $51.35. Our stores don't double coupons and usually have limits on loss leaders.

I forgot to add our stores do not do overages. At best you may get the item free, but never do the stores redeem for more than the price to apply to rest of bill. We also pay tax even on free with coupon items.

I had a $200+ Kroger trip that I paid $30 for last year when they were tripling coupons.

Not long after Meijer had come to town they had a triple coupon up to .50 day.Hubby was out of work with a job injury but we hadn't seen any of the workmans comp check so this sale was a major deal as we weren't even making all the bills on my salary. I had become a cupon fanatic out of necessecity, though I've always used them. Anyway I FILLED to overflowing and with stuff oozing off the bottom two grocery carts and left with a bill of just over $30.00. I don't know how much I saved but I know I've never come close to doing that well again. I was in the store for several hours and basically if I could get it for free or pennies it went in the cart. I didn't get much produce but I do remember getting free milk and some meat due to some coupons tha read something like buy 3 of these and get free (whatever the item). I remember the amazement on hubby's face when I showed up at home too. He still talks about that receipt. When he held it as high as he could reach it was still long enough to drag out a good 15 feet behind him due to all the coupons. Usually he just gets frustrated with my frugality, but on this one he was impressed.....It definately wasn't a go after specifics kind of sale though. Some things like soap, toothpaste, rice and noodle helpers, and oatmeal not only ended up being free but because there were so many different brands there were lots of coupons which weren't multiples of the same product (we're not generally allowed over three of the same) and I didn't have to buy some of these things again for almost a year. (Very good thing since it took over a year for comp to decide which insurance company was actually going to PAY my husband.) Although Meijer still occassionally does the triple coupon thing it isn't quite the same with the way the prices have risen in the last few years. Hoping I find another one of these someday soon!

I just love hearing all your good deals...BTW from doing the triple $1.00 coupons that was 3 1/2 yrs ago and I stll have alot left..I had to store all non-parishables in my motherInlaws basement..the only thing I regret is not knowing to only use half of a cap full of laundry detergent..I had gotten my 50oz bottles of Tide for .35 a piece and had 53 bottles..if I had known about that then I probably would still have some left!! OH well live and learn...

~Wow! We must have too many savvy shoppers like you in our area because every store sets limits on sales items and coupons. Usually 4 on sale items and four seperate coupons for the same product. No internet coupons either. And excepting when you get things scott free, you have to spend more to save more, KWIM? I spend less than $60 every other month at Shoprite and usually use $5-$20 in coupons. Most of my shopping is done at Aldi, which doesn't accept coupons. In my opinion, it's more important to look at how much you spend not how much you save. I spend $200 or less a month to feed 4 of us. BTW, how long will it take you to go through all those razors? ~

With coupons: Not more than $40.

Out-of-date shopping: $963.68 in free groceries in one trip. It was a one time thing though cause the next day the store did away with the out-of-date policy and tightened up on their re-stocking practices.

I'm impressed by what a lot of you save. No store in my town doubles. I have to go to the next town 30 miles away. Most of the coupons in the paper are for convenience food which we don't eat.

The most I have ever saved is around $60.00, and this is by purchasing meat that is about to go out of date. I like to hit the grocery store a day or two before the long weekends, when they usually mark down meat that expires either on the holiday or the day after. One of the stores, that is open 24 hours, always puts their reduced meat out at around 9pm, when the meat personel leave for the night. Hitting up the grocery store at 9:30 or 10pm can really pay off! Last time I did this, I stocked up on pork chops and stew meat, most of the packages costing me under 50 cents. I even got 5 packages of stewing beef, with the bones in, for 10 cents each!
