    Default GRRRRRR!!!

Let me tell you what dh has done now. I could kill him GRRRRRRRR. He went and got a 300.00 gutar (if that is even how you spell it ) It is nott he fact he got this but he still wants me to go get him more christmas. I told him we need to catch up on our bills. but nooooooo he dotn want to do that. So times I feel like just spending all the money and not be the one trying so hard to save money. Oh i am sure you will see more about my dh not wanting to help with saving money.

WOW I am sorry to hear about this, it's a shame that you seem like your in this all by yourself (same with me) but dont get off track, you continue to do what your doing ie. savings, stockpiling, snowballing, etc...

Believe me I am where you are now, I save, make sure the bills are paid on time and yet DH goes and uses the CC to buy something for himself, yikes! Like HELLO cant you see me managing not to spend money, why cant he do the same??? Sometimes, men just dont get it.

Well Christmas morning I'd let him find that guitar under the tree with a big red bow. That would be his whole Christmas. How could anyone think of spending that much money on themselves when Christmas is just 2 weeks away?

I AM NOT SAYING THIS TO DISCOURAGE ANYONE...but i just cannot imagine being this way off , this far apart in a marriage.....no wonder money is the number one cause of divorce, i didnt get that till posts like this one.....

you are far more strong and courageous than i am.....and i wish you luck and love and i guess all you can do is pray to God to work on him...cause i'm sure all your efforts are currently being ignored.....he wants more xmas...print off free sheet music and that's it...how many couples on this site dont even exchange gifts between themselves....

Wow that is crazy. I agree, if the guitar is what he really wanted, that is his Christmas gift. If it were my DH, I would make a list of $300.00 worth of things he would have to do without (sodas, that new pair of pants, cable television ) over the next few months to recoup the cost (I did this once when DH went out and spent $70.00 of money I had earmarked for bills on a video game, and he hasn't spent a cent on things like that since).

Christmas isn't about gifts. I would tell him that your gift to him is your love, and your contribution towards the financial security that you will both share when you are out of debt and have all of your bills paid.

Hmmm... that's too bad. But I wouldn't buy him anything else for Christmas. It'd be one thing if the guitar was a tool for him, like he was a musician or something -- I can understand spending $300 on a kitchen knife, that wouldn't bother me, or some other form of kitchenware -- but just on a toy, now that I couldn't handle. :S

No, I wouldn't get him anything else for Christmas, and I'd tell him so.

If dh pulled that stunt on me, the only other thing he would receive on Christmas morning would be the fleas he'd be scratching out in the dog house!
