This should be fun

Sunday I went to one of the volunteers homes and along with about 10 other volunteers we sorted and packed up gifts that were donated by different charites for the women & children at the shelter and the Stage II housing. My job this morning is to deliver some of the gifts to the families at the Stage II housing while the women are at work and the children are in school. The stage II housing are 12 condo's owned by the shelter. These are for the women who have 'graduated' from the shelter and are beginning to start there lives independently again. The women there have to hold down a job (sometimes two) and show a real attempt for getting their lives back on track. The shelter does help them out by paying some of their rent and utilites for the first 2 years, but money is still very tight for these women..especially during the holidays. So we try to help them out with gifts for them and their children to ease the burden.

Sorry for babbbling... can you tell I'm excited? LOL!
