    Default happy new year

Hope everyone had a great Christmas.Ours was good....with the exception that my stepdaughter got some bad shrimp Christmas eve and got food poisening.Lasted about 5 hours but she still didn't feel lilke doing anything but lay around. Did anyone notice that things seem to be different this year? I live in a small community but every year there were more and more stores staying open on Christmas. This year there wasn't even a grocery store open here. Just the convienence stores. We only have two of those. I think that it should be this way so families can be together. The place I worked at MADE us work all holidays whether we had out of town plans or not even though they had plenty of people to cover the shift we had to go in in if only for 5-6 hours. Every body have a safe and great New Years. Hubby has been alcohol free for almost 2 years now so our celebrating will be at home ( probably sleeping by 9p.m lol) but at home none the less.

I had a great Christmas this year besides the SD's receiving but never giving, we drove to my best friends house in NY and although the drive up was fine the drive back home was like over 3 hours! All in all we had a wonderful time but the only stores I saw open were 7-11's but I didnt need to go to any, thank goodness.

We had a good christmas also. Christmas eve was spent over dh's parents with everyone (brothers, sisters, wifes, kids,g-kids,friends). Then around 9pm kids came back to our house and opened gifts since they will be going to their in laws houses. Christmas day I woke up sick but I made christmas dinner for my parents and two of our kids who had to work late christmas eve.
It was a very good day even with a head cold. Most of the stores were closed except for a few gas stations.

We had the best Christmas!!!! We just stayed home with the girls, cooked and spent time with eachother( that is the best) As for New Years Eve , we will be staying home with the girls. I might pick up some cheat party stuff and have a lil party with just dh and the girls.

Well we had a very nice christmas eve party, and for breakfast we had it again... and warm apple cinnamon muffins. Dad who never eats lunch, said he didn't want me to cook anymore and said he was going to go get lunch. He came back from Carl's Jr. with a huge bag of french fries and hamburgers. I try not to shop or go out on christmas day..because I don't want to encourage those stores and fast food places to stay open...if everyone would just stop buying stuff on those days they wouldn't be open. Dad did something really sweet though and I love him for it. The store I work for is closed on christmas and I hope it stays that way.

I'm not sure what we are doing on New Year's Eve ~ when at home, we go to my MIL's house & the adults play cards (2 tables of poker & a few of us prefer canasta!) Since we aren't home, we will have to find 'something' to do?! ~ Be Safe Everyone!
