    Default Tornado Warnings

For most of the day, we have had thunderstorms that have spurred tornadoes all around us. We received some hail with strong winds around 4pm and were told to take cover because of circulation, but we didn't see any tornadoes.....thankfully! WHEW! Two towns near us have had damage reported with one fatality. We will continue to be under a watch until 2 am, which hopefully by then the rain will stop because it is causing some flooding in some areas. President Bush even had to evacuate his home and take cover in an armored vehicle at his Crawford ranch, which isn't that far from me (a 30 minute drive). No tornado hit his area either.

For anyone in Texas getting a pounding right now, I pray you are safe.

We're here in North Texas, and have had quite a pounding of rain today. I've not heard of any injuries though, and little destruction, but we'll know more in the morning.

Still, I'd rather have this rain than the snow that is falling in Denver!!!!!

We've got lots of rain here, but no thunderstorms. What I'm wondering is how safe was it for the President to take cover in an armored vehicle from a possible tornado? If tornadoes can throw around semis, I'm thinking one could do some pretty bad damage to an armored vehicle.

our tornado warning ended about an hour ago. i was a little worried there for a bit, it was dark and really eerie looking for a little while. no hail, but lots of wind, rain and lightning.

I was wondering the same thing. He said he didn't want to go to the shelter; he wanted to wait and see how bad the storm was going to get. I guess if it would have gotten worse in his area, he would have went to the underground shelter.
