Need Shopping Advice from Americans
I'm not really sure where to post this but I need some advice about where to shop in the US. I want to buy a Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer and am considering getting it when we go to Florida in April, as they seem to be priced quite a bit lower in the states.
Is anyone here from Florida and know where I would get the best deal on something like this? We will be in the Daytona area, but I can go anywhere within reason (ie. not Miami
) We could also stop somewhere on the way down, if there is a great place between here and Florida. We will be going down into Buffalo then through PA, WV, SC etc. on the 77/79 then hitting the 95 through GA. So if anyone is along that general route and knows of a place not too far off the road.
Maybe some states are better than others, tax-wise?
I don't want to pay full price at a dept. store if there is some outlet down the street that I just don't know about.
TIA

YES! In the St Augustine outlet mall, there's a store that sells refurbished and new mixers. I bought my mom a refurbished professional series one there, and I think I saw brand new artisan series there. You might want to call and see for sure what they have. I think the store is called Kitchen Connections, but I will try to find out for sure.

The first week of April, but we'll be in Buffalo around 8am, so probably too early to shop on the way down - although I can stall a bit if there is a really good sale somewhere. Of course, I can go to Buffalo pretty much anytime, but would be over my custom's limit on this item if I bought it on a day trip.
I'm sure I can entice my mother to St. Augustine for a day of shopping
. Where is the mall? I've actually always wanted to go to St. Augustine and we never seem to get around to it.
Thanks for the help

St. Augustine would be nice to visit. It is the oldest city in the country.

Just wanted to say thanks! I went to St. Augustine and bought a Professional 600 at Kitchen Collections for $239. I was VERY excited, this model retails for $730 in Canada! My father accused me of salivating on all their machines
and was laughing at me the whole time we were in the store.
I've only had a chance to use it once so far. I put my back out on the way home and am struggling just to get the basics done, so can't really justify much fooling around in the kitchen yet. But I am looking forward to spending a lot of quality time in the future with my new baby

OMG! that is sinful! I found mine online. It was onsale thru Amazon. New it cost me $139. US currency, plus S&H. Mine is the 5 qt Artisan model though.
I found it thru the site SlickDeals. net. Granted it is COBALT BLUE but who cares. It was the best kitchen investment I've ever made and use it to make my bread doughs. If you are not in a hurry to buy... the hold off, I've seen them at that price several times. The Free Spirit Saver who walks the path with Greebo.

While you are traveling along 95... remember that you don't pay sales tax in New Hampshire...
You already have your mixer.. but there may be another time you want to go shopping in the states.
I can't be out of money... I still have checks left!
