Talking What color is your kitchen?

My kitchen is a light-pale-lime green? With 4 in. square tiles (white with tiny gold specks) lining the bottom 3 feet of the wall, cupboards are a med. brown finish.

I am wanting to go in a different direction with color any ideas? The floor doesn't matter for it will go with anything. I need a change!!! and I am not good at choosing colors or the decorating part either.

We have yellow counters, ugly brown cupboards and pale purple walls(what were they thinking??). We are going to paint this year though. We will be keeping the yellow counters and probably using blues and whites for the cupboards and walls.

It's from the 50s and has pale yellow walls that are actually panelling w/ the lines turned horizontal, with strips of chrome dividing the panelling into big squares. It's very hard to describe. I actually like the pale yellow color.

Then there's wainscoting that is painted pale green (what is it with pale green & kitchens?). MY colors are pale yellow, red, & black w/ a coffee/cafe theme. I have hardwood floors and zero cupboards/counters. I do have a butler's pantry but I'd MUCH rather have counters & cupboards.

I painted our walls a grapey purple color and I have vineyardish decorations. Our cabinets are white and we have two different colors of countertops. Around our sink etc is 80's style white with gold formica. Over on the other side of the kitchen is faux wood.

Our kitchen had wood floors and hickory cabinets. The counters are dk green, tan, and black granite looking laminate (if that makes sense). The walls are a creamy white. I am considering painting but not sure what color. Accents in olive green and rust.

We rent so we didn't have a choice...

We have white tiles with blue roses in the middle on the floor (it's actually really pretty) the counter is that weird 80s plastic stuff with weird greenish wavy lines, the stove, oven and sink are avacado green (icky!), the fridge is white, the diswasher is black, dark wood cabinets and there's a border along the ceiling that's blue with roses. Over all, I hate my kitchen. haha.

Once we own a house I want a hawaiian theme kitchen. With tan walls, pineapple borders, dark cabinets and all black appliances.

Emily-hope, your kitchen sounds like my dream kitchen.

right now we are renting and have lovely cream walls, gold countertops and yellow and gold laminate floors and dark pretend wood cabinets. I couldn't stand it at first, but it has grown on me. I found some chairs at the salvation army store that match the gold countertops and a table from a garage sale that matches the cabinets and it all works together. for now, while we save for the real thing.

My kitchen is navy, barn red and tan. Very americana. The walls are white and I have faux marble counter tops that are tan with swirls of navy in it. Kitchens are really fun to decorate. There are so many themes out there. I love my kitchen so much...it is a country kitchen to it is large with lots of oak cabinets and counter tops and a island. I also love the yellow and blue kitchins that I see in magazines...I might try that next when I am tired of the color scheme I have now..
