On another frugal site that I am a member of we are doing this but its not for a year unless you want it to be. I am doing it for 3 months with a couple exceptions being underwear, socks, sheets. and sneakers. I dont need anything for the house and everyone is good to go on the clothes front. Some people are doing it for a month at a time, some for the whole yr etc. We are on day 4. So far so good

I think this would be tough to do for a whole year. I also believe though with the exceptions they made that I would be able to do it for me. Since I share my life ith a husband and two kids they might not be as understanding about the whole thing.....I may just have to run it by them and maybe at least attempt 3 months at a clip, if that works go for six, and so on. Something to think about.....

I have cut back a lot on buying anything new over the last 6 months. I am trying to get the courage up to try it for 6 months. I guess with this being the new year, I should just do it!
It is relatively easy to get things used online and at thrift stores. It's about committment, right?
I think I can, I think I can!

I think it's a great idea. I wouldn't want to try it until I got myself settled (because I'm too self-serving to be inconvenienced during upheaval), but I bet it gets easier as time goes by. I know I got way more comfortable with buying very little when I was up north.

I honestly would love to do this but couldnt do it alone, I think though that I can try quarterly attempts and see how it works out. Does anyone plan to do this?

A whole year would be tough. I am just getting into the no spend days and sometimes that is hard for me...but it is worth thinking about...
