Do you have your Will's in order?
Although many of us on this forum are not yet thinking about death, are your matters set up?
I just wanted to put this in your head.
Mom died in 99 at 59
Dad in 02 at 64
One week before dad died, pretty much incoherent (sp) sister and a cousin of dad had a lawyer come out and make his will out. Well you can tell who got the better end of the deal. Well any ways here it is 07 and things are still net completed, along with lawyer fees, farinsec (sp) and regular acountants fees, taxes, penelties, intersest and so forth it has cost hundreds of thousands of dollars and is still going on. My parents estate if handle right would have been about a 2 million estate. Sad to say if dad was alive now he would be sooooooo pist that all that money was wasted!!Sandy

Wills and money really bring out the worst in people don't they? In the last few years both my family and my husbands families have been turned upside down by stupidity over money to the point of ruining relationships, ugh!
No, our wills aren't in order but that is in the works for this spring, and as we have no children we REALLY need a will to keep our families from killing each other!
However, lol, I personally plan on living to a ripe old age, selling off the farm and spending every last penny, in fact I've told hubbies family to NOT look to us for money, that if we had any left over it would be used to set up a home for wayward bunny rabbits
. I've seen them kiss up, fight, squabble and pizz away every last penny that they inherited and then they blamed us (hubby and I) for not stopping them!!

DH and I were just talking about this yesterday! Neither one of us has a will, but we are planning on doing it this spring/summer.

We had our wills drawn up several years ago. I think it's important to do this.
On 11-22-85 I married the man of my dreams.
On 01-13-89 I gave birth to the love of my life.

We must really do this as well. We have not. We also have a blended family and it would be a real mess if we had a death. We also have no life insurance. I plan on trying to get us some soon.
thanks for the reminder. I need to put that on the list of priority things to take care of ASAP.

We have wills but they need updating which will be done pretty soon.
It's sad to think that we are 20 and have our wills drawn up.
but when Dh was deployed we had to be ready for anything. We don't have much but we need to make sure if something happens our boys are taken care of.

We don't have wills, but one of our financial goals for 2007 was to get them completed. It probably won't be until this summer after we've completed our snowball, but this year definitely.

We had them done before we had kids and haven't updated since then. We really need to do that.

We did ours right after we found out we were pregnant, because of family issues I wanted to be clear who my children and my jewelry should go to just in case and because of dh's son's disability we are unable to leave anything specifically to him without his mother or the state taking it.

i brought some simple suze orman software to help get ours in order and I have been workign on it since December it has wills and fincancial power of attorney and advance directive forms. have to get DH to work on his when I last brought it up he literally curled up in fetal position while i was talking. his father died when he was 12 and though he knows how important it is, he can't seem to face it. But the goal is by month end to have them drawn up and notarized by end of feb.

Our wills are done, think this is very important and can avoid a lot of squabbles and guarantees your wishes are carried out.

Yes we have our affairs in order. We are in our 50's and I just wanted certain things to go to certain people. Money does bring out the worst in people and I have stipulated in my trust that if there is any fighting or squabbling over anything, it is all to be sold at auction and the money divided. I am hoping that won't happen and each one of my children know my wishes for my personal belongins. Also, everyone, besides have a will or trust, also needs to have a living will and a power of attorney papers drawn up. Also a power of attorney over medical treatment is advisable. We have all of these and feel secure knowing that things will be done according to our wishes. I did all of this stuff after my husband passed away. I wanted to make sure that my children would be taken care of incase something happened to me at a young age. I was told by my attorney that you can't will children but you can suggest a person or persons that you want to raise your children. He told me that 9 times outta 10, the judge will honor your wishes.
