Default I got some real bad news today

Well I am not sure where to start. My 19 year old ( which would be 20 on the 12 of January) Has been hoocked on crack. I have tried to help her but she stayed in Louisiana when I moved. I get a call to day from my mom ( which just got over a stroke that she had on dec 28) the call was that the child welfare took my grand baby from my dd . My mom is trying to get custody of the baby but she is not sure they will let her .Because she had a stroke not to long ago. MY grand baby is only 2 ( going to be 3 on january 30) I asked my mom if they let me get my grand baby . she said she was not sure because I lived out of state. dose any one know who I could ask or if child welfare would let a out of state grand parent get the baby. I am so worry about my baby.

I don't know the answer to your question, just wanted to let you know I'm hoping for good things for that baby and wish you the best in helping. I'm sorry your dd has chosen to go this route. She made the choice and I hope she finds her way back to a better life. I'm sorry this is happening.

It depends on the case..........My neice lost her son because she was doing drugs her sister tried to get him and they said no one lives in Ca and the other in IL. The one in Ca went to court today to see if she got her son back they said no.......... Because they do not like her boyfriend. Is this your dd first offence?

not really her frist. the other time ocs was called they told my dd to stay away from the babys father ( he is a well know for being on crack and a verry large wrap sheet .) and off of drugs. well the day my mom came home from having her stroke. My dd and the baby was gone. That was Monday night. I was told to night that some how the ocs worker call my mom and my mom told them where my dd was. Just so happend my dd was on her way to my mom to pick up more stuff. the ocs worker was there and asked her could she take a drug test. DD said no. and some how my aunt had the baby last night( which I was told the baby did not sleep) Now my mom has her. I asked her what did ocs say .Could she take care of the baby. they have to go to court in the morning. I know I wont sleep tonight. I just dont want my grand baby to be put with some one she dont know. Dint get me worng I know there are some great forster parents out there. I just want my grand baby with me or at least my mom. As for my dd all I can do is hope for here to find help.

I'm so sorry for all you're going through. Here is the site for Louisiana child welfare--maybe you can comb through all of the info and find something. Good luck.

Sorry to hear about your bad news. We got custody of my husbands daughter for the same reason. Her mother lost everything including her two kids. There has been no word from her in two months even to her own mother. We have no clue where she is. Hang in there and do what you have to .

Sending you hugs. One of my co-workers has had custody of her grandson but the battle was expensive. Her son signed away his parental rights, but his girlfriend fought it. It was only when her parents stepped in that she signed him over (they were tired of taking care of the kids- she has 5- and her habit). I hope your case is easier and less expensive - fingers crossed for luck.
