What interesting jobs have you had?
I saw another thread on here about current jobs, but I'm curious as to what people have done previously. Anything you loved and/or dreaded?
Personally, I've done it all. I've been a commercial teller, bank teller, registered rep at a brokerage firm, CNA, retail, admissions rep, college instructor, and SAHM.
I think my worst was the brokerage firm--I hated it and felt like I was selling my soul to the devil. LOL!!! When I was a CNA, I was newly married and didn't have kids so I hadn't been thrown up on or pooped on so that was a tough job for me at the time.
I've taken some ECE classes and think that when my boys are in school full-time that I may teach preschool part-time. That's my plan this week, anyway.

Duh--this is a lot like the other post. Sorry, guys. I just looked back at posts on the other thread and realized that most people did write what they have done in the past.

Well when I was a teenager I used to work on a worm farm. Feeding and caring of the worm beds. I think that was the most interesting

I have been a survey taker for a telemarketing firm in a mall (when I was a teenager), worked as a hostess at a restaurant, I've cleaned houses, I was a delivery driver for a florist, a shoe shine person in a nice hotel, worked for a big office supply store, and a desk clerk at a hotel. But for the past 17 years I have been a licensed vocational nurse--definitely my most interesting job.

As a teen (from age 14-19) I:
*Sears - cashier
*car dryer at the car washer
*swam in the little ponds at the miniature golf course getting out the golf balls and putters
*was the birthday clown for kids parties at the miniature golf course
*pharmacy tech at my grandfather's pharmacy
*daycare teacher (realized then I did not want to become a school teacher)
*runner for a law firm
*babysat a deaf and mute 6 year old whose parents made no attempt to teach her any means of communicating - she was so pitiful - broke my heart
For a brief moment on my early 20's I:
*bartended, hosted and waited tables then went on to manage a steakhouse
*ran the office of our family owned car auction business and did car title work for the dealerships in the tri-county area
For the most part I have been a SAHomeschoolM. I never did well at jobs where I was not the boss, the bosses relative, or in some type of position of authority. I have not been one to ever take orders - I am way too controlling and bossy.DD (19)

My parents had, first a hobby shop, then a picture framing shop; I worked in these from junior high (unofficially at that age) and the part of my college years (part of the my first degree and all of my last one) when I lived in the same town. Then....
Taught Latin, medieval philosophy, writing, and sci fi in college (not all the same time!)
While I was in the convent:
Taught 7th grade one year, my absolutely worst ever job -- the best I can say is that the kids and I seemed to do each other no permanent harm
Librarian in a K-8 school (fun)
Helped to design a day care (fun) , was its first administrator for a short time (not fun, except I got to buy all the toys)
Assistant administrator at a residential facility for mentally disabled children -- spent the time revising all the policy manuals (and boy, doing that did I gain in respect for the nurses. How do they so all the paperwork and still have time to take care of the patients?)
Administrator of the same facility. (a close runner up for worst job of my life)
After convent:
Office manager for opera company, probably the most intersting
Night library supervisor -- my favorite job ever!Donna

Nothing to off the wall, but when I was in HS and a little after I worked for the LA Times part time doing inserting, now this is where you put all the different parts in the paper, especialy the Sunday ones, they would get very heavy, but this job 25 years ago paid a heck of alot better then fast food, if you were fast at it and I was.

Well if were talking about from teenage years until now I've had a quite a bit.
I was a babysitter and errand runner for elderly when I was 14yrs
Waitress and housekeeper when I was 16yrs
Secretary for a Roofing Company until I got married
When I married and we were overseas I was a cocktail waitress for the NCO club
Cashier at the local BX on base
mid 20's Supervisor for a Restarant and a Cashier for Walgreens

Then I went and took some more courses and was a Claims Medical INsurance Associate for the same hospital
Went to work for a Heart Specialist and did the same job
In the summer time from about May until the end of August I am a Tournament Coordinator, I set up people with conessions for softball tournaments that either sale food or items of clothing, and people who paint helmets. ( I can't wait until its time to start this, so I can get some of the debts paid down)
Currently SAHM doing odd jobs such as housecleaning, running errands, typing
I'm sure I've forgot a few jobs.Maggi
