    Default Breathe Missy, breathe

in with the good out with the bad...in with the good, out with the bad

    Why am I hyperventilating??

because BIL has to be with us for a few days.

    Why? you ask.

Glad you asked, lemme tell you.
Because the police removed him from FIL's house. Other BIL and his wife slapped a restraining order on him (good for them, smart thinking) and then THe police dropped him here.

but missy...don't YOU have a restraining order against him??

Yes, yes I do, but the police didn't wanna hear it.

    So now what??

Well, for three days (this is day one) he'll be here.

    what's he gonna do??

well he's supposed to get his paperwork in place to get admitted for inpatient drug/alcholol rehab. or sign up at the rescue mission.

    what's he doing now?

dunno havent' seen him in a few hours.

I mean they cannot force someone into your home especially since you have your own restraining order against him... seems the police dun really care now do they?

i called the police this morning too after this all happened and asked how they can just decide that he belongs here. the guy said that is he staying there now? i said well, yes. you know he is i just said your guys dropped him off.

they said since he is "staying here now" that gives him the right to be here. I slammed the phone down, i was frustrated. noone is listening to me.

I can't believe the police just dumped him on you, not only because of your restraining order, but you have 3 small children in the home! What in the heck are they thinking?

Hope your hubby is home soon and can deal with him so you don't have to.

WTH!! I would be on the phone to someone...let's see TV stations? The newspaper? City hall? A lawyer? This just can't be right.

And I thought my day was bad....

So sorry you have to deal with this, Missy.

DH and I were just watching Cops last night, and they had this dad on who wanted to kick his son out of the house. The son was probably about 30, and he had just been sleeping on the couch or front porch for a few days. Apparently if someone lives or stays at a house, regardless of who owns/rents it, they can only be kicked out by going to court and serving them with an eviction notice. So, so messed up.

^ I would think that if someone has a restraining order against them that circumstances would change that.

Umm, how can you have a restraining order against him and he is left to your "care". Umm, that it itself would be criminal because injunctions/restraining orders at least here, you can not be around that person or can be arrested.
I would find out what you need to do, from a lawyer ASAP, to protect yourself and your family as having him there is violating and anything happens well, you may be out of luck.
I sure hope he gets in ASAP and gets help he needs, but it is his choice and he has to want and be ready to be clean!!!

((((HUGS)))), to you and your family!
