The only one I've heard in my family is apricot brandy for teething babies. haha. Oh and "college makes you lose all common sense so don't go" from my grandpa.

I'll have to think about this for a bit and I might think of another one.

If a baby is constipated, mix some karo syrup in the bottle with the formula. I did this all the time for my dd, and it works!

Oil of cloves is also good for toothaches.
Every year my Ninny would cook up a huge mess of poke salad as a blood purifier and general tonic. I still do this, I just love poke salad.
Red oak bark tea for stomach complaints.
Catnip tea is good for colic and to relax.
I'm sure I'll think of more.

My mother always used sweet oil for my earaches ( warmed slightly ) then cotton in the ear to keep it from draining back out.
Ginger tea for a cold ( then go to bed and do not uncover as you'll sweat like crazy but the cold was usually gone the next day.)

Just thought of a couple more.
For good complexion, twice a week pat some buttermilk over face, let dry then rinse off thoroughly.
Another remedy for freckles or oily skin was to wipe your face with half a lemon. (I did this as a teenager and would squeeze the rest of the juice over my hair to give it highlights)
Milk of Magnesia is also good for oily skin. Once or twice a week, coat face very lightly with MoM, let dry, rinse completely.
For tired, sluggish blood eat lots of greens (dark leafy, not iceberg lettuce), sweet taters often, and liver once a week.
Hot water, lemon and honey for stuffy nose and/or sore throats.

About the biggest home remedy in my family is salt water. If you have a sore throat or a throat infection, gargle with 1/2 tsp. salt in tepid water every hour. Also gargle to get rid of canker sores. For a sinus infection, you can flush your nasal passages with a weak salt solution. Apparently very few bacteria and viruses can survive saline conditions, so it really works.
The only other thing I can think of is when you just begin to feel a cold coming on, take a large dose of Vitamin C (1000-2000mg) and don't, under ANY circumstances, touch or rub your eyes or nose with your fingers. Also wash your hands at every opportunity.

My grandma told me to rub whiskey on my DD's gums when she was teething because she would get 2-3 teeth in at a time & it worked.
Hot totties for a cold {tea with honey & whiskey}
Cinnamon toast for an upset stomach {a friend told me her & her son eat this everytime they have an upset stomach & they feel better}

Peppermint tea calms a queasy tummy. Ginger capsules or even ginger candy helps prevent motion sickness.
“When you get to the end of all the light you know
and it's time to step into the darkness of the unknown,
faith is knowing that one of two things will happen:
you will be given something solid to stand on,
or you will be taught how to fly.” - Edward Teller
“Our Earth is degenerate in these later days;
there are signs that the world is speedily
coming to an end;
bribery and corruption are common; children no
longer obey their parents;
every man wants to write a book and the
end of the world is evidently approaching.”
— From a translation of an inscription on
an Assyrian clay tablet, circa 2800 B.C.E.
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference.

Mentholatum any time someone has a cough or is congested. I smear that stuff on their chest.
Heated rice bags for all kinds of aches and pains, including ear aches.
Ummm, I know there is more but I can't think of it.
