News about my nephew
As I write from home now, I've just talked to my nephew's wife and he seems to be doing a little bit better this morning. He was in extreme pain yesterday
His face is sooo terribly swollen. His right eye is swollen shut and his right side forehead is huge. The scar goes from more than half way of his right side forehead to below his right ear. The surgery took over 9 hours but the dr.s said they got it all....thankfully. They've had him up and walking (last night) and he's fully awake and aware of everything. Even the fact that he had 2 seizures post op. If all goes well he could go home as early as Sunday. They moved him to a regular room yesterday which is good as is wife can stay in the private room with him now. We had to come home 2 days early due to the snowstorm that was predicted and has currently dumped at least 6 inches on us. We drove on home last night, getting home just as the roads were freezing. I'm glad to be home but feel as if we've abandoned my nephew's wife...
. If we had stayed on until Sunday we might not have been able to get home before Wednesday, so I guess it's a good thing we're home now. Thanks for all your prayers and support. It meant a lot and I'm sure it helped.

You've been a wonderful help to your nephew & his wife. I know they must have felt such comfort having you with them in person as long as you could be there. They know you care & continue to do so evn if you can't be right there with them.
I'll keep them in my thoughts and sending my best that he is home soon and his healing is quick and as comfortable as possible. Big hug to you.

I'm glad the surgery went well and he's in less pain. You did as much as you could for your nephew and his wife...you were there for them throughout the surgery and it was important that you got home before the roads became impassable. I hope his recovery is quick and worry-free and that's he's back home soon.

Sounds like everything is going well. I am sure your DNephew and his DWife understood that you had to get home. I am also sure they were very thankful that you were there with them throughtout the surgery. I hope his recovery is a speedy one.

I am so happy that your nephew is doing so well. Many of us were praying and it looks like prayers were answered. Try not to feel bad about leaving, I am sure that your family understood the cirsumstances, and that you were there when you were needed the most. Waiting is the one of the worst parts, and you were there. I will continue to pray for your family, and I am glad that you are home safe, I saw some of the pictures of that ice etc., and wow, that can be so dangerous to be on the roads during those horrible conditions. Take care and keep us updated on his progress.
