Default Cheapskate family on Good Morning America

I didn't get to watch the whole segment this morning, but they had the Economide family on GMA this morning. From what I caught, they do most of the stuff we do.

Default Cheapest family on 20/20 last night

Had to share this funny story! DH and I were watching 20/20 last night and when the segment about "America's Cheapest Family" came on DH looked indignant and said "Au contraire, we are America's cheapest family"

When the narrator mentioned that the featured family makes over 30k a year DH snorted and exclaimed "Amateurs! Try under 9k, then we'll talk!" He grumbled into his beard for the rest of the show, he can be so cute sometimes.

Default The Cheapest Family in America?

Some of us saw the Economides family on ABC's 20/20 last night. I am sure more than a few Frugal Villagers could challenge their title as "Cheapest Family in America". They do have a web-site: http://www.homeeconomiser.com/

I felt the same way. I didn't see anything out of the ordinary that they were doing on 20/20. I was shocked however at how amazed people were that some families live within their means.

I liked the walkie talkies too, I also wondered how they came up with them as America's "cheapest" family. Why couldn't they have said frugal?

When I saw her small hand full of coupons, I said out loud "Is that all the coupons she uses in ONE MONTH?"

My coupons fill a three ring binder. I take that thing with me every time I go to the store. You never know when you will find an unexpected bargain, like they did with the mark-down lunch meat. You can use coupons on that stuff, too.
