Well, since I was an unwed, single mother at the time I'd say my first was definitely an "oops!". (But what a wonderful "oops" she was!) My second was well-planned. So well-planned that we tried and tried to conceive and it didn't happen. Two years after DH and I had given up on having another child, I went for my annual exam and my doctor told me I was pregnant.

First - planned, discussed, deliberated greatly over if it was time to "try" by both of us...
Second - planned but happened quicker than we though it would. "Everyone" said it would take longer to conceive the second child but it didn't.
Third - surprise!
She is definitely wanted & loved but we were not "trying" to conceive or planning to. She's a surprise but definitely not an "oops".

Considering I was told when I was 18 yrs when I had my first pelvic exam that I would never have children. It was a very, very plesant surprise when at 20 I went to the doctor for what I thought was the flu and to be told I was pregnant. I believe I had loss for words, then laughed and then cried. All happy though. We thought he would be the only one when four years after his birth the same thing happened I was sick and had a stuffy nose and went to the doctor for a very welcome surprise.

Similar to Ani - DS was planned. And after I went off the pill, we didn't really "try" the first month, and for the second month we did "try" and - ta-da! I had figured it would take a lot longer, but he ended up coming at a really good time - like after DH got a new and better paying job and while I was in the middle of a layoff (they couldn't lay me off while I was on leave, so I got an extra 8 weeks of full pay and an additional 3 months of health insurance).
Funny, I was just thinking about this since I got my positive reading on the home PG test on Superbowl Sunday last year. (Go Pats!) I also just sold the remaining ovulation predictor kits I had bought on eBay last week - I won't need them again before they expire! And I only used half of one of the kits.Loving wife to DH (8/31/03) and Mommy to Owen Alexander (9/20/06) and Oliver Andrew (5/25/12)
