Smile Hmmm, weird lights in sky!

My DH called me outside just now, if you stand in the dark and look up, there are 6 round lights in the sky, doing a weird pattern, crossing over each other. Does anyone know what this is? Just curious. (No, I'm not paranoid)

Sometimes places use large seach lights as an advertisement for things like that. Auto dealerships sales, club openings, sales etc....

Yeah, sounds like search lights. The Saturn dealership, for some reason, uses them here.

there's a night club here that uses em. Look like the lights that you see in old war movies that search the skies for enemy planes. Freaked me out the first time i saw it. kept waiting for the bat-signal to appear, lol.

Could it have been military aircraft practicing maneuvers? I live near an USAF base and they do a lot of training flights over our area doing odd patterns.

I was thinking the same thing Kathy since we have a bombing range close by and they practice night flying/combat practice all the time. It's cool to go out at night and watch. The other day while driving to pick DD up from school, I saw a Stelth (sp) bomber doing manuvers and when it banked to the left it totally vanished for a minute or two and it was awesome to watch. Alot of the planes fly in from aircrat carriers off the coast and the NAS in Jacksonville, Fla.

No idea what it was! We live in the country, so it couldn't have been lights? Who knows! I saw the same ones last week, but they were further north. It was kind of neat though!

At 5:30 this morning, before a commercial break, CNN reporter said something about 911 calls coming in in North Carolina Wed. Night about strange lights seen in the sky there. Said they would have more on the story when they returned from commerical break. I rushed into the kitchen for coffee and I guess I missed it. Was wondering if maybe this had anything to do with your siting? The mystery continues!

Lucky! I love stealth bombers but have never gotten to see one up close, let alone in flight.

Saw another one today and this time it was flying pretty low. LOL, there were at least 10 cars pulled on the side of the road watching with me. One guy thought one of us had car trouble I think and when he realized what we were doing he looked up and said "Holy crap, that's awesome!" And it is, LOL
