Well, this is maybe six years ago, but it would have been to take this job the first time it was offered. I turned it down - because I was a bit misled about what it entailed - but it would have been a smart move. I did take it the second time it opened up.

I would go back 30 years and tell myself to not smoke. Take all the money I earned and put it in the bank. And a few other things I won't post about either.

Okay sorry I didn't post an answer right away but I got called away.
I would go back and tell myself that you are okay, and that who you are as a person is okay. That it was never your fault and that someday soon you will be an adult and able to take control of your life. That drugs are not the answer even though I know how badley you want to escape. And that you are much stronger then you will ever know.
I guess that sounds kind of sappy eh!

I agree with going back 22 years and no start smoking and put all the money I would have spent in the bank earning interest.
There is another one I would just go back about a year ago because I did a not so nice thing behind someone's back and now I have to fess up about it, cant say what it is but it it's not cheating/drugs or anything like that. Just I know once I fess up it will hurt the one I love so dearly.

I agree there are so many things we probably all wish we could go back and change but we cant
No smoking, no sex too early, no using CC's without proper knowledge, save/save/save, etc..

There are so many things I think I would do differently. I would never have dated my first fiance our last year in high school. I would have dated guys in college only, and never got too involved with anyone! I would have gone to school for psychology or counseling with a minor in creative writing. I would also have stayed at home for at least a year when I worked at my first job, to save up enough money to buy a new car with cash and still have money saved in the bank. I would have remained at home with my family until I found another well paying job, (after the first one ended after only one year). Then, after finding another well paying job I would have moved out and either roomed with my sister and her friend or found a studio to rent, instead of a one bedroom apt. I would never have used my cc for anything. I would have kept it under lock and key for an emergency only. I guess my wishes to go back would be to change those things that financially and emotionally disrupted my life. I like to think that we all learn from our mistakes though. It's hard to say that things might have turned out differently for me now, maybe I just would have ended up with a different set of choices I wish I had not made.

I would go back 25 years and tell myself DO NOT MARRY THAT MAN!!!! HE IS BAD NEWS!!!!
“When you get to the end of all the light you know
and it's time to step into the darkness of the unknown,
faith is knowing that one of two things will happen:
you will be given something solid to stand on,
or you will be taught how to fly.” - Edward Teller
“Our Earth is degenerate in these later days;
there are signs that the world is speedily
coming to an end;
bribery and corruption are common; children no
longer obey their parents;
every man wants to write a book and the
end of the world is evidently approaching.”
— From a translation of an inscription on
an Assyrian clay tablet, circa 2800 B.C.E.
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference.
