    Question Does anyone have

any vintage fabrics? Specifically oilcloth. I am intensely interested in oilcloth and am trying to learn about it. I know they stopped making the real oilcloth by the 50's, but just wondering what it is, how it is made, and if anyone makes it today. So far Ihave learned that there are many reproductions, but they are made from vynyl.
I would buy a reproduction oilcloth if it were made the way it used to be made. From what I have read about it, it is much more enviormentally friendly.
    Thanks,
    Kathy

I imagine you could find that sort of thing on ebay.

I was looking there, but only found a definintion for oil cloth. I think, after much searching and study, that I now understnad what it is/was and it's use. Kind of neat, but equal to our vynyl tablecloths today. They should make it again just because it is friendly to our enviroment and does dissintegrate in the dump, if sent there, unlike vynyl.
