    Default Anyone a professional organizer?

I mean for work? I've been thinking a lot about it lately. Think of what a nice mother's day/father's day gift it would be to have your hobby room/garage organized. Or maybe your whole house in general. LOL!

Cricket, This is something I toy with on a regular basis. I agree...it would be a great gift to someone. I'd go for the certification instantly if I didn't have to lay out money to get the certification. I definitely have a talent in the organizing area (especially of other peoples stuff) and would love to make this my profession. I love my current job, but I think I'd love this just as much for totally different reasons.

The other day on Good Morning America they where talking about starting up your own business for less then $200. One lady started her own business as a organizer and brought in $90,000 a year.

My mom was telling me about that woman on GMA--I think she specializes in organizing garages and makes $90,000/year. Wow.

Amy--that's exactly me. I love to organize other people's stuff! I'm always going to my mom's and organizing. It's more fun when the "stuff" doesn't belong to me. Is the certification you're talking about through NAPO?

cricket1, I have my own cleaning service and I do have some homes that I just go into and just organize for them, I charge 20.00+ an hour. I have the same customers every week or every other week. One thing that I found is that you have to look at the cost of living in your area can the people afford to pay 20,30 or even the 200 for your service. Just do some homework and find out what is the going rates in your area. I always found if the people like your work word by mouth is the best. Before you know it you will have employees also. Good luck and I know that you will do just fine.
