    Default Really Stupid Question Alert!

My dd's school is on a two-hour delay this morning because of snow (meaning school will start at 9:50). Do buses usually run when there is a delay like this? I need to know so I can either a) have her out for the bus or b) drive her to school (we don't live very far, so it's not a big deal).

This is the first year we've had her in a regular school, so I'm clueless! (What else is new?)

The buses should run with the kids schedule.

They would run here, just two hours later than they usually pick up.

    Wow, that was super fast!

I figured they would, because there would be parents who couldn't take their kids to school because of work or other issues.

I will have her out for the bus in about an hour (I woke her up at her normal time, not thinking to check if there were any closings or delays...oh well, she wasn't too upset).

    Thanks all!

They would run here but for the country kids, only on the pavement (meaning you'd have to take them to the road if possible and if you can't get there it's an excuses abscense).

Well, we live along a state highway, and the busiest road in Madison, so there is no trouble with the bus getting through to us. In fact, the road is pretty clear right now (although some of the kids live in more rural areas). I could run her to school if the bus wasn't running. I guess paying higher property taxes pays off once in a while--our road gets cleared first!

we quit the 2 hour delay thing here in PEI. Now its only 1 hour delay and if it dont get any better usually they just close it down for the day. Otherwsie their wasting the busdrivers time too getting the bus all warmed up and ready and the janitors have to go anyways to make sure the furnace is running and then can go home.

Some schools outside our area (Kentucky, or Ohio--we are halfway between Louisville and Cincinnati) were running on a 1 hr delay, but the Madison area schools ran under a 2 hr one. Go figure.

She got on the bus at her normal time--2 hours later! She was so energized by the snow that she didn't realized the bus had stopped until I told her to get on it LOL.
