    Default Almost a bad day!!

Yesterday I sold one of our miniature dachshund puppies for $200. I sold her to my DS#1's girlfriend's family so I let them give me a check because I knew I how to contact them. Anyway, I had the check in my purse and it was sitting in a chair up off of the floor of course. Going back in time, I had already told the boys to make sure there was nothing on the floor that they felt was valuable because the puppies are teething and eating everything. I already learned the hard way because last week I came home to find one of my college textbooks chewed up. They had crawled up in my bookback that wasn't zipped closed and ate it! That was an $80 book that will have to be replaced, but I am going to wait and see if we read that far into the book first. HA! Ok, jumping back to today. I was outside helping DS#2 work on his rollercoaster project when I came in to see my purse sitting on the floor. I picked it up and noticed half of the check on the floor!! I knew this wasn't a good sign. I called in DS#3 who helped find the other half. There is no way the bank is going to accept a half eaten check. I debated whether to call the buyer up and tell him what happened. Finally, after tossing ideas around in my head, I finally called him up and explained the story. He was very understanding and I met him in town and gave him the chewed up check. He replaced it with another one.....thankfully! WHEW!! I think I am going to hide my purse this time until I can get this check to the bank. So it turned out to be an ok day after all. WHEW!

I am glad it worked out for you, I used to work in a bank and if the "money" ever gets chewed you can tape that back together I don't remember about the checks, I guess if it was really badly chewed the teller wouldn't be able to read it or process it. I'm glad it all worked out for you! My kitten chews books all the time, he chewed my new TWG book at Christmas, the day after I got it

Glad you got the check thing worked out. Hopefully you will not have to replace the book.

Yikes. glad it all worked out in the end. The same thing happens here...anything with in, and even slightly out of our border collie's reach will get eaten. that's all there is to it. it will be chewed on. LOL

Glad everything worked out and the buyer was understanding. LOL, maybe he got the hint to puppy proof himself since even one pup can do alot of damage.

Those little fur babies can really keep you on your toes. So glad it all worked out. My little kitty chews paper and loves to unroll the toilet paper and TP the bathrooms.
