What to do????
Well I went to the Drs Wednsday and Friday last week. I go back again on the 14th. I received 2 shots of steroids. Using a cough syrup with codine. Its not helping. My breathing is bad. Really short of breath. I just wonder if it something worst then asthma. Got a different kind of inhaler spiriva. I just picked up 22 different types of medicines. Which most of them I take twice a day. Do I try and get into the Drs sooner? Or do I wait it out............ I can still walk around.......... not to bad......... I think its mostly the coughing that is driving me crazy........... As you can see I'm still awake. I'm also waiting for my granddaughter. Her stepdat is bring her down to me. 400 miles one way. She refuses to stay with her sf mom. Only I will do. I guess that one way to know you are loves........lol........... I'm so tired.......... I need to make up my mine..........soon

Hi just my opinion but i would go back to the doctors sooner if you can.
In my expireance its not just the coughing thats gets to you, its the pain of your muscles caused by the coughing and the sheer exhausting effort of breathing.
If your having your grandaughter you need to be as well as possiable so you can enjoy her visit.
I am lucky that in my family me, my nanan (had it, she died) , my mum and two of my sisters have asthma i have it pretty mild and can mostly get away without my inhaler staying away from things that set me off, my mum has it worst and is on steroid inhalers.
Hope you feel better soon.

IMHO, I would get back into the Doc asap. It's not something you can mess around with.

Fern,
Yes! I would at least call the Doctor and tell him what is going on. He may want to see you again or at least call in another scrip for you. I would call him asap! Praying you feel better soon.

Do you go to a pulmonary specialist?? I think if you don't , that you need to. I wouldn't mess around with this either. Are they sure it is asthma this time, and not pneumonia or something viral? Let us know. Thinking of you.
taking one day at a time, trying to get rid of debt!!

as the ladies said above, get to the doctor as fast as you can. asthma is deffently not to play with. I have friend who has it bad and sometimes Ivce sen her lips turn blue and scare the beegesus out of me. Thought I was losing her.She was alright after but she was getting worked up too quickly and that makes it worse.

I'd at least call the doctor and explain that you are worse - and also list the 22 medicines (I'm thinking that probably is NOT a good thing - they may be counteracting each other or causing an overreaction that may be as damaging as the initial condition. If you can't get hold of the doctor, call a pharmacist and make sure that the meds are ok together. I'm personally in favor of natural remedies where possible, like drinking hot lemonade for a cough or laryngitis (and it does something different than hot tea with honey and lemon although I don't know why). Good luck, and I'll be praying for you.

The medicines are for asthma, high blood pressure, gerd, arthritis hypothyroidism,rls,........... I've been hospitalize with asthma. To the point they were going to interbate me. This is acting different.......... I'm waiting for them to set up a stress test. the kind that does not require you to use a treadmill........... Still can't get in to see the dr.
