Default Whole Foods Market Inc. is buying rival Wild Oats Market for about $565 million

Not sure if any Wild Oats fans out there, just saw the headlines.

They both are. In my area, Wild Oats has been here for a year or so, and then Whole Foods opened a massive store with much to-do right up the block from them. Appears Whole Foods Inc may close Wild Oats stored where they have 2 stores in similar locations. Just a little sad that some stores get bought out & close.

I hope this will improve the quality of the Wild Oats in our area. We have both over on the Kansas side of town. The Whole foods is much cleaner and the produce in better shape than what I was running in to over at Wild Oats. I find it cheaper to buy the gluten-free items in town than to order them on line.

Wow! I was just watching a show on PBS about Whole Foods last night too. haha.

I wish they would open a chain down here. We have a couple small health food stores but not like the way Whole Foods is.

I am so envious of those of you who live near these stores - either one of them! I used to live an hour away and would drive there once a month - here in rural IA, there is nothing like this!
