What's the last thing you really messed up?
I can't believe it, I have never burned anything in all my years of being a homemaker, not food, not anything. Today I was fixing a tear in a pair of my sons shorts by ironing on a patch. Without any thought to the material I was ironing it onto I just got the iron good & hot and ironed/burned it on. Patch is there
but the material surrounding most of it is gone & all over my iron & on the ironing board.
Come on, fess up...

I mess up all the time so I can't really remember...LOL I am usually a good cook, but if something is troubling me or I am busy doing something then I would say burning dinner once in a while fits the bill.

Just the other day Darlene. A couple of weeks ago Gripey brought home some home made beerox from some people who were going door to door selling them. We heated a couple up that day and ate them. (I did it, they were wrapped in saran and then in foil....I unwrapped them, heated them up) So a couple of days ago Gripey and I were scratching our heads about what to eat for supper. I remembered the beerox in the freezer so I threw them into the oven......saran wrap and all. Man, they were smelling so good our mouths were watering.....then he unwrapped the foil. Surprise!

um how long do you have??
Where do I start??
I burn dinner all the time.
I've sewn pant legs together when i have been trying to raise cuffs. (hubby found it amusing, i didn't)
I've forgotten to flip the switch to "suck" from "blow" on the vac (use it outside to blow leaves off the patio), which sent a carpet full of dropped potting soil all over the furniture...
sigh~~ Missy ~~

Me too! Me too!
I can't remember a day lately that I haven't messed up. I think it has something to do with the beginning stages of "mentalpause."

I haven't messed anything up in a long time. Though I remember back when dh and were first married, I had no idea how to cook anything. You would die laughing if you knew how many meals I tried to make that the dog wouldn't even eat.

Just two days ago I was dying my own hair and some of the liquid got onto my bathroom wall (try as I might to scrub it off it's still there), magic eraser didn't even touch it
.
My first and only time trying to iron (a few years ago) I was using the iron on the wrong setting to take wrinkles out of a synthetic black cardigan and I burned the print of the iron onto the back of the jacket. (It was burned pretty lightly so I rubbed it down with newspaper to fade the iron mark and continued to wear it for another year or so, it was my favorite). I asked for a steamer shortly after that, and I steam wrinkles out of my clothes now and it freshens them up
, no more ironing mistakes for me. Any real ironing that needs to be done my fiance does for himself

well last week I put forgot and out hubbys coat in the dryer after i washed it, it shrank in the arms. I know better. Boy was I mad at myself. My hubby was a little disgusted it was his construction work coat(logger style ones). he has long arms so he has to get the tall men selections.

Oh my, sorry but I'm glad to see I am in good company.
Ya gotta laugh at yourself sometimes, nobody is perfect.
Update~ Jack took a torch, razor blade & steel wool to the iron and it's looking good. Turned the ironing board cover inside out & you wouldn't know anything went awry. Don't think it'll bleed thru but will iron something I don't care about to test it. Now where should I hide those shorts?
Shorts? What shorts? I didn't see any shorts.

On a daily basis here! The kids would joke they knew dinner was ready when the smoke detector went off (SO does most the cooking now). I have dyed the wall too (sigh, there goes the apartment deposit- even with just a little mark). The last big thing I did was I backed into a parked truck. No damage to his truck but my car has a crack in the trunk side. The guy was cool about it (doesn't hurt he was drunk off his hinney at a superbowl party). The most expensive mistake I made was leaving the lenscrafter coupon at home and had to pay full price.

Darlene, you've never burned dinner? You're my new role model
On the occasions that we have frozen pizza, I have a really bad habit of forgetting to take the cardboard off the bottom. I can't even tell you how many times I've done that.~Amanda~

This one is embarassing. I went to a party awhile back. I had bought a new long dress. Somehow the dye bled through onto my bottom. I went to a friend's house and "he" had one of those padded toilet seats. Yep, you guessed it. I left a big butt-print right on his toilet seat. I tried to scrub it off to no avail. He got a great big kick out of it and was showing it to everyone!! I brought one of those Magic Erasers from home and that didn't even work.
I wanted to buy him a new seat, but he said not to bother as he was having too much fun with this one.
I still haven't lived that one down.

putting the water in the coffee pot twice, forgetting to hit the 'start' button on the oven and leaving your wallet at home after spending an hour getting all the things you need for the monthly shopping... what? You mean that not EVERYONE does that too???
