Default Hello from Utah (for now)

My name is Jerin and I currently live in Utah. I have 4 children, ages 2-8. I homeschool my mddle 2 (6 and 7) and my 8 year old is in a special program in a local public school (the middles may join him there in the fall).

I also have a husband who works for a major corporation that may be interested in moving him to the east coast around the first of the year. While we generally are looking forward to the opportunities that would bring, the move would send us from a low cost of living area to a much higher one, without much of a raise in pay.

So I'm looking at ways to start saving now, to change our lifestyle, so that once we do make the move, it won't be such a big shock to our finances. Dh and I were both raised in fairly frugal households, but have admittedly gotten maybe a bit overly comfortable over the past 4-5 years of living with a higher salary in a lower cost of living area.

Hello Jerin, welcome to the village.
Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we are here we might as well dance.
