Monkey crotch!
I let the boys stay up a bit late tonight, since they have a long weekend. A bit after 10 my little one come to me crying with his Curious George torn down the middle. His brothers were playing tug-of-war with it and poor George ripped right between the legs. So.. instead of working on my govt essay I spent the last 20 minutes sewing a monkey's crotch. It's amazing the stuff moms have to do.

I am sorry, but I had to giggle at your post. I agree, it is amazing what mother's must do for their families.
I am glad you were able to repair the monkey.~*Michelle*~

I'm sure George & your son are glad you preformed such a delicate operation.

Thanks for the 1st of the day smile.

****Sigh***** I wonder how old they'll be when they stop asking us to sew up thier stuffed companions. Thankfully mine are still asking at 8 & 10. Several of ours, especailly oldest son's Pikachue, I think have more of my stiches than the originals. Haven't ever been asked to sew up a monkey crotch though. Thanks for the smile.

When I read the title of the post I thought this must be about some sort of terrible STD or something.....
Thank goodness it was something so simple (yet irritating....lol). Glad you got him stitched back up. We had an incident with a bean bag chair once.....that took a lot longer to clean up than your monkey did to sew up.....man what a MESS.

Poor George, talk about a bad weekend for a monkey,
. It is a good thing that you are handy with a needle and thread, it could have been curtains for George. Thanks for the giggle on this overcast cold Friday morning.

LOL, I avoided opening this thread for a bit myself. But, me and my "curious" self just had to look. I've never had to sew up any stuffed animals, but I have had to figure out and fix Barbie dolls of my DD's when DS replaced GI Joe body parts (arms, legs & head) with poor Barbie. He even gave one Barbie a crew cut and full combat dress including a helmut, ammo belt, AK47 and a backpack. She was dangling by a rope from a helicopter. DH thought it was funny, DD was in tears, I was frantic cause I knew I couldn't do a thing with that hair and it was DD's favorite Barbie. DS had to replace the Barbie and promise he wouldn't alter Barbie again. LOL, I think he still has the GI-Jane Barbie, LOL.
Poor George! All's well that "ends" well, LOL!!!!

i am 30, i still have my stuffy from when i was 9 months old...there isnt enough fabric left to stich him..but the last time my mom fixed him..she cried and laughed and said, i never thought i'd be fixing this thing when you were 8 months pregnant for your first child....
i love that memory, i love my stuffy and blanky.......

I must admit I was intrigued by your post. Thank goodness it was something easily fixed. Super Mom to the rescue!! I remember I had a monkey too that was torn apart by my neighbors dog and I was hysterical. My mom sewed him up and he looked like he had open heart surgery. I loved that monkey. Brings back lots of memories. Hope Curious George is feeling better soon!
