Just got a call from the school.
They call with recordings, whenever anything happens. The other day the police had to escort the buses home, because of a situation involving a man threatening to catch himself on fire. Now I just got one that one of the students reported (mind you this is K - 5th grade) that a stranger in a white four door stopped at her bus stop and tried to talk with her! OMG! They said they are sending notes home also from school. Thank goodness that I'm picking her up at school today, I would be a nervous wreck! Although, her babysitter is really good with her!

That's soooo scary, I am over protective as it is, something like this might make me have a panic attack. I am glad though to hear everyone is safe.

How awful. You never know what is going to happen these days. In our town, Wednesday, there was some problem with a group of neighborhood children on the school bus. That afternoon, there was a big to do in front of their houses and one nineteen year old brought out a pistol and began shooting. A 2 year old was shot and killed. So terribly sad.

That is scary. A few months ago i was given a notice about a woman that was trying to adbuct girls from my sons school. Apparently her daughter passed and she wanted to replace her. I still keep the paper in my purse that has her description, etc. It is so insane the things that happen nowadays at our childrens school.

That is VERY scary!! Funny you bring up the male in a white car. Within about the last two months, "we" our little area and surrounding develpoments about a similar situation. However; we are in Polk County. There was a sign stating something, I thought at first it was about childcare as I only viewed "child something". Later that day, I seen it at the same at the end of our little street(we have one way in one way out(unless, you cut through orange groves). I had more time to view it. It was put up by the sherriff department stating attempted child abduction and gave details including white "sedan".
I am glad to hear though, you where given the information. Our kids previous school(zoned school), by the county jail was, always having lockdowns because of gun fire, etc. Never releashed info by the school unless your chilld told you.

Wow! Poor ds 9 will never walk home alone again! As for the school lockdowns...I went to our school the other morning to volunteer at the bookfair...and I noticed when I went in that a K-9 unit was parked out front...an officer was at the desk...which is not unusual at our school as officers patrol all the schools occasionally. Well they didn't need me so I left. My friend called at 2 that afternoon and asked me if I'd heard about the lockdown. I was at the school at the time of the lockdown and no-one informed me of anything. I'm well known by the staff and that's probably why I didn't have to show ID. It turned out that an irate parent had been raising cain. Had I known that my son was in potential harms way...I would have never, never left that school. I'm thinking of attending the next school board meeting to voice these concerns.
