Well, first off, it's not onion season, so they AREN'T real vidalia onions. Our sweet onions are $1.99 a lb., but they were .99 a lb. during onion season, which is in the fall.

Oh My Gosh....I know that produce is high right now but that's crazy. And what's bad is the prices are high and the quality of the produce here is horrible...we haven't had anything fresh for a while.

While I do believe that to be a laugh able price, they didn't have a that great season last time and they are a specialty product and truly only grow in a cetain area of the country and certain time of year.

For just a little bit more you could go to Outback Steakhouse & have it cooked, served to you, AND cleaned up afterwards

Oh my, apparently I haven't bought onions lately! I did read on another board that the price of onions is outrageous though.

No I did not buy it. I understand that it may have been a bad year and Im sure that the onion farmer who grew deserves his money. My heart really goes out to people who depend on those crops but I just cant pay $5 for one onion. I didnt mean to offend any onion growers I love farmer! I just have never seen such a high price.

i got some onions at trader joes last week and i think it was less than 2 bucks for 6 of em. i've stopped buying produce at walmart. it's getting rediculous what they charge for it and it's not that great quality. i've been getting it at trader joes lately. the prices are better and so is the quaility. i'm waiting for the farmer's market to open up so i can get some locally grown stuff too. i don't mind spending more there because it is direct from the farmers and good quality. oops sorry for the ramble.
