Food Lion
Anyone here shop at this store? I only go in if something is on sale, or if we run out of something. So I went in this morning to get a couple things that I had coupons for and the sale flyer said they were buy one get one free. Alot of what I wanted wasn't being sold according to the sale flyer. For example cerial was supposed to be buy one get one free, would work out to $1.69 a box, it is being sold 3/$7 works out to be $2.33 a box. This has been happening to me every week for the past month, something they list for one price is marked different in the store and management won't honor what is listed in the sale flyer. So I am just curious if any one else has this issue at their food lion, or perhaps another store. I just emailed customer relations at food lion headquarters, so I will be curious to see what they have to say about this or if they even contact me back.

I would like to know what they have to say about that also. I worked at foodlion in high school. All of ours have closed.

I've had that problem with our local Giant a couple of times. All the Food Lions changed to Bloom recently in this area.

I would be interested also in finding out what they say. We don't have that problem with my local Food Lion. But where my mom lives they very often don't offer the same sales as the flyer and they don't do the milk coupons either.

I would be interested in hearing what they have to say. We have Ralphs Supermarket here. The prices from one Ralphs to the next are different. I have two close by (about a mile from eachother) and they do not have the same prices on everything. I have brought in my ad looking for a certain item (like meat) and they will not honor that price. One is in a newer area and they definitely charge more. I stopped going to that one. My girlfriend who lives about 7 miles away will get her Ralphs ad, and the prices are less on many items compared to mine! Go figure! They must determine prices by zip code. Could that be the problem? Are you going to the closest store to your home?

Where we live Food lion is the main store. We do have a super wal-mart (nightmare), sams club or the miltary commisary, which is where I do most of my shopping. I rarely shop at Food lion because their "sale" items are still more expensive then wal-mart or the commisary. I do occasionally go in and buy their generic brand because it's cheeper on some things.
I'm sorry you're having such a horrible time with them. That's just bad business that they won't give you the price in the ad.

I only go to Food Lion for the sale items. I always check my receipts because something almost always rings up the wrong price.

I shop the Food Lion loss leaders and have never had any problems. I would shop there more often, (clean store, nice management) but their prices are among the highest in town.

The zip code isn't an issue, on the back of the flyer it lists what locations the sales are good in and have had this issue with 2 locations and they are listed on the back of the flyer. I only go in there for loss leaders or we need milk now and no time to go any place else. We live in the country, the food lion I went to today is around 10 minutes from our house, the other food lion I have had this issue with is almost 30 minutes from our house. To go into town to grab a gallon of milk or a loaf of bread our options are food lion or the gas station, or travel another 20+ miles for more selection.

Food lion just called me, no real explanation for why the sales aren't honored, he thanked me for bringing the issue to his attention as he didn't realize the prices were wrong. He has a gift card waiting at customer service desk waiting for me to pick up, to compensate me for my troubles.

The manager that called me is new, this is his second week on the job. This isn't the first time I have noticed this, just the first time I spoke up. Could be a practice of the previous manager, and maybe there are some employees that are continuing the practice.
