I've adopted a soldier!
I just got a confirmation email with the name, address, and email address of the soldier that they picked for me.
...he's the same age as me and the same rank as my husband when he left the Army.
I think this is so interesting.

My first soldier went home to his family (woohoo) and my second one, is somewhere ... and can't communicate

That's so nice of you guys to do that. I know that when DH was deployed, care packages brightened up everyone's week. I'd always send DH extra to share w/ ppl that didn't have anyone to send them one.
Wife to Air Force DH for 7 years.
