    Default I'm moving... I think

Okay, so I made a major life altering decision today...

I am enrolling DD in public school.. again. I was all set to teach her at home, but I did a lot of thinking, meditating and crying... but, I will say she moved, and enroll her in school in the town her dad lives in. Better school system...

It's only about a 15 minute ride (good weather, no traffic) from my house to the school, but in bad weather or mornings, it can take up to 45 minutes.

I am not in a rush to sell this condo, I need to finish the remodeling before I can even consider putting it on the market...

So... the town he lives in is expensive. A 2 bedroom CONDO is selling for around 250,000... it is about the same size as the one I am in now, and there is no play area, across the street from my outlaws, and about 5 minutes away from the ex.

A house, MAJOR money... I might... MIGHT be able to find a 2 bedroom for about 350K.

If I sell this place, I will have a little over 100K profit, I could pay off my car, and still have 90K to work with...

What would you do? Would you sell? Would you stay and drive the distance? Would you get the condo? Would you rent?

Hell, I have even thought about adding an in-law apt to the ex's house... but not sure there is enough room, and the extra land is on the side of "wood fence grumpy neighbor".
I can't be out of money... I still have checks left!

I'd stay put. She'll be in school only a few more years 4 or 5 why uproot her and yourself when you've established a HOME. She's got her room, her friends and sounds like a better play area situation now. Not to mention if you have to pay more for a place to live you'll have to take that money from other things. Now you can do somethings or put the money away for a future use like college or retirement. Hold fast for the short term. Finish up your repair work and build up your equatity.

I'd wouldn't even try to decide until you see how it works with staying put first. (Like Laurie said)

Off topic...I am kinda curious how old you're daughter is and what the you had to do to get her re-enrolled in public school??? I'd like to pull to home school my boys for middle school .... but not for high school.????

i would stay and try to work it out, to me 45 minutes isnt worth the expense of a new home, you may find its not that bad or you may find it IS worth a new house, but give a a shot for awhile

My DD will be starting the first grade in September, so, thats 12 years of driving her to school, even if she got a license and a car in her Jr. Year of hs, thats still 10 years of driving lol...

I live in a condo now, there is no park, but there is some grass area here for her to ride her bike, but, think apartment complex living, difference is, I own this unit, and I have a 3x5 patch of dirt in which I grow veggies.

My ex and I are still friends, people accuse us of still being married... we threw the car dealer for a loop when we gave 2 different addresses, lol

HE has our old house... the huge yard, the pool, the jacuzzi, jungle gym, etc... I would have access to it whenever I wanted.

This place is becoming unsafe, this morning, I got a call from my friend/neighbor... a unit on the ground (same as mine) but 2 buildings behind me got broken in to... they threw the tv throw the slider, trashed the place...

hmmmmmmmm Is there any way to move in between those areas where its cheaper? U said 15 minutes from the new school u want to put her in?
What about a house instead of a condo?

I would stay put just to test things out, if in a year or so you still want to move then I would move, it all depends on how you are feeling in the future, moving now just might not be the best thing to do but again only YOU can decide what your heart tells you to do. Remember, school will be finishing soon so you have a few months to think about things before making a final decision. Just let us know what you decide.
