update on that dang fence
Well I called the city (again) about this fence the neighbors want to put up. Their is no survey filed with the city. The neighbors have not filed for a permit to put up this fence either. The person who cut down our tree is a brother n law to one of the neighbors.
They did come and talk with me (again) and were very nasty. They complained about how much this is costing them and neighbors are giving them a hard time etc ect ect. I lost my temper and I am ashamed to admit it because I don't think it solves anything. Among other things I said to them "Their is a whole lot of stupid going on on that side of the property line" and "We would like to be compensated for the damage done to our property".
Now we don't want to be compensated. I do think this was a honest mistake we weren't even sure were the property line was. I just got tired of them trying to bully me. GGggggrrrrrrrrr did your mouth ever open before your brain kicked in?? It takes alot for me to get mad, they were just so nasty.
We are on wait and see mode right now.

I would think they are in a world of trouble...at the very least with the codes office! Who goes about cutting down trees & putting up fences in a city/town without getting a permit???!!!
Good luck Julie. Hopefully just the threat of litigation will get them to do the right thing.

yeah seriously they are in the wrong and have no right to act this way. they want the fence they need to pay for a survey to be done thats the way it goes.

You are right and they are wrong in their actions. Don't back down or they will walk all over you. You are doing good.

Julie, sorry your neighbors are being such horse's patoots about the fence. I think you were right to get firm with them and let them know that they were not going to walk all over you. I hope that they got the message that you are not going allow anymore pettiness from them and that they straighten up and stop causing your trouble.
