    Default my biopsy results

The growth in my mouth was benign. As for what it was...... it was caused by the HPV virus. Learned alot about this virus today and it isn't just an STD, the growth that I had in my mouth was from the same virus that would cause another person to get a wart on their hand or foot, for some reason I got the rare one that came out in my mouth, my dr said when in the mouth it is usually seen in children on the voice box. So all is well with me, the virus in me isn't contagious like the std strain would be. The environmental strain I had still raises my risk of getting ovarian/cervical cancers, so the ENT reminded me to make sure I continue my yearly exams.

I am very happy that it was nothing worse.

Did he say if it could come back? I sure hope not!!

Just a note: I am 33 and have/had cervical HPV. I had surgery to have it removed and the next time I went to my Dr. I asked him about have the HPV vaccine. He said that since there are over 100 strains of this virus that it would not hurt me to have it. He checked and said my insurance would cover it. Well.......fast forward a few months and my insurance company is refusing to pay because I am over 26. I wish the virus knew it was not supposed to get me after I was 26. LOL The moral of the story is make sure that the ins. co. will pay after a certain age.

We don't know if it will come back or not. The strain I have would be just like a person that gets warts quite often on the hand or feet. I am 33, did call my insurance company and they won't cover the vaccine for me, my ENT did recommend that I have all my kids get it, including my son. Insurance won't cover my son neither, so I will find out what it costs to pay cash for him to have it. The ENT said that in boys/men the vaccine also protects them from protate cancer and a couple other cancers. Really makes you wonder why it is only marketed towards young women.
