Please Read !!
I can not remember the name of the poster, but someone's niece was badly burned while trying to save a friend's life. Can someone please tell me how that little girl is doing? I still think about her and pray for her. I would really like to know how she is. Thank you for any information.

I remember that post. She wanted everyone to send cards to her niece, which I did. I can not remember who the poster was. I would like to know how she is getting along. Maybe someone will be able to help.

Is this the post you were talking about?
Please pray for this poor little girl and consider sending her a card.
If this is it, she has not logged in since 10-29-06.Last edited by Neeley; 05-04-2007 at 04:17 PM.

No, Neely, that is a different child. This was the poster's niece and she was twelve. She was injured trying to save her friend who didn't make it out. It was a very sad situation. I am thinking it might have been Roddick, but I'm not sure.

Okay, I did a little research and I was almost right about the name. It was Rodmick's niece. Is she still here? Maybe she will see this.

Hi there. That was my niece. She is 13 now and doing lots better. She can now use one hand and arm really well. She is going back into the hospital the end of may ( or first week of june) for more surgery and will be there a good chunk of the summer. Shes getting hair back and they can and will be able to fix the big bare strips by stretching her skin slowly and bringing it together(she had really thick hair thankfully).
Shes been back in school the last few months and the kids are great to her in general. Trust me if not she will definately verbally fillet them for picking on her. Shes not a quiter. She has 1 quite bad area of her face but they can fix it eventually.
It's been very hard but shes a fighter and doing well. It's just a very very very long process.
Thanks so much for asking and praying for her.~July 19 saving goal for event $104/$1000

Thank you for replying, Nodmicks. Sorry I messed you name so badly. I am thrilled to hear that she is doing so well. I think about her a lot, as I know part of what she is going through. My injury almost wiped me out. She sounds like a really strong girl.
I hope she got the teddy bear I sent her. I felt so awful about what happened to her. God bless her.

That's great that she is doing good
It's good to see she hasn't given up and seems like a brave girl.
Back on the frugal bandwagon for the third time and hoping to slash my debt by the end of 11' and start saving again!
No more CC debt except school debt.

Joyb~ You didn't mess up my name at all. Sadly I also used it on another site where we posted progress pics and a cyber freak decided to find me so I had it changed here for privacy.
I will have to ask about the teddy bear. I'm sure she did though. To be honest I'd kind of lost track as so many people were blessing her with cards, kindness, prayers, etc. It really helped cheer her along when she was in so much agony saying she wished she had died. She had a big box with all her cards and stuff and looks through them when shes feeling down. Shes a fighter but still gets a "why me day"
Another thing that really helped her was being interview for Disney radio and telling her story. She had people asking for the autograph "of a real live hero" and perfect strangers comming up hugging her and wanting to shake her hand. The strangers helped her realize she is a hero in a way the family never could. She believes her friend that died is now her angel supporting her when she needs him. She kept thinking we were family and of course we would say She was courageous and a hero.
Eh gads nowI have myself bawling again. Thanks again for all your prayers and good wishes ladies. I'm sorry I hadn't kept you updated. I'll post periodic updates for ya'll. You Villagers are the best!~July 19 saving goal for event $104/$1000
