Im the maid of honor for my best friends wedding in july ( my crazy friend

)
I couldnt think of a speech to write that wouldnt sound stupid, so I wrote this poem instead. Please feel free to critique or comment. Is it funny? dumb? make you cry? anything please.......ETA: its a rough draft, and I know the pentameter needs work, but is it ok?

To my dear friend
I lend a hand
beside her here I stand

so many memories to share
but frankly, I would'nt dare

as you embark
on a new family tree
I treasure times of you and me

you've been the sister I never had
and sometimes even made me sad
mostly, my dear friend
I remember
the good times and fun
thousands of hours spent in laughter

a timeless twenty six years
countless buckets of beer
its been a long haul
all those boyfriends and all

I stand here starting to bawl
dressed up in gowns of toile

your wedding day has arrived
amidst the flowers and the sun
finally, the time has come
to go drink copious amounts of Rum

knowing you has been a pleasure
more than I can say or measure
with love and joy,
my dear friend
these ramblings are drawing to an end
