Gas prices jumped 10 cents a gallon...(vent)
overnight to $3.27 a gallon. Went food shopping today and food went up and not just a few cents either. More like 50-60 cents an item. For instance we like Near East rice pilaf. Have been getting it for $1.59 a box. Today its $2.21 a box. Politicans of either party do not care for the working person. This I believe. How do they expect people to afford this. Cant afford gas or food. AARRGGHH

we're paying $3.42-$3.49 a gallon right now. milk, eggs, meat, and produce are the only foods ive seen go up yet, but they are all bound to go up next week., like they always do around here in this 4 week span, then they fall back down around october or november

Raising wages will just raise prices

How else can employers afford to pay those pay increases?
It sucks, but all we can do is do the best we can. Try to change things in ways that are meaningful (as opposed to the 'gas ban' that was supposed to be today
).
Conserve, recycle, reuse.

It's up here too. I think everything is up. Doesn't really matter what it is.

I know what you all are saying. My DH truck is terrible on gas mileage and its really affecting us in a major way. I guess we will just have to watch the sales more closely and try to eat a lot more beans and stuff that is cheaper. Hopefully, our little garden will help us some this summer. It really does seem so unfair. He put 50.00 dollars in his truck today. I don't know how much it would have been if he had filled it completely up.

Woke up to find gas prices up here too! I think it is outrageous the way it keeps jumping up so quickly. I am sure there are a lot of people that will have to cut other parts of their budget to afford gas, which is sad.
