Having a really really really bad day....
I dont think I can keep myself positive anymore
First all this crap with the ex bf, and my health, then I signed up for an online course which is very fast paced but no bookstore has the required reading textbooks!! The school bookstore doesnt sell it nor does Chapters etc. I think others are finding their material online but I cant figure out where and I've asked around to others. I've missed out on 4 assignments so far and the first quiz is this Tuesday.
All I have to say is WHY ME?!
I am waiting for the big black hole in the floor to open up and swallow me up and do me in! Ok enough ranting, Im off to have a good cry before bed.

Thanks everyone, even after a nights sleep, as crappy as it was - tossed and turned all night, I still feel like utter crap and a failure
I mean who goes and pays that much money for a course and then doesnt do the required reading. I know the textbook situation is beyond my control but I feel like a total and utter failure and Im kicking myself and asking myself repeatedily why I set up myself up for it?
I decided to try school to see how I felt about it and to try to obtain a certificate of some sort to say that I did it, I had actually done something right. UGH!!!
And last night the bf was trying to cheer me up but b/c I was in such a snippy, crappy, bitter mood with myself he mistook it at being directed at him
So now I have some major damage control to do today .... UGH!
It just keeps raining down on me
I really just want to go and hide.

Hey Shorty,
If the Bf is worth his weight he will forgive you.
Don't beat yourself up too much here. This isn't exactly your fault. I don't think schools should offer classes when required material is hard to obtain.
I have a question. If your school has a bookstore then they should have a way to get the required material.. Of course if they don't have it I can see why you would be frustrated. Do you know who the publisher is? You can go online and find the publisher's web site, most of them have one and get the phone number to call them. I would then go to the bookstore, or a nearby bookstore and ask if they can order it. For pete's sake, they should be able to order it for you. I used to work in a bookstore in shipping/receiving and did this all the time, whether for myself or for a customer. Even with a few books that were out of print. It's worth a try. Also, can you get ahold of the school and tell you have had a hard time locating the material needed for the class? Ask what to do. Maybe, if you can't get the required material you should drop the class for at least a partial refund. Then maybe try again later?
Well, I hope you can resolve this situation. Just don't give up on yourself. JMHO.

Can you email the instructor and just let him/her know that you are having a difficult time finding the material? I would just be honest with the prof. and let him/her know that you are really trying, etc. Even if you're behind on this quiz, you can make it up on the next one.

what books do you need? I'd be happy to look for them here, we're loaded with college resale stores, regular book stores etc.
