Cloth Grocery Bags?
Anybody use these regularily? I get tired of all the paper/plastic bags I seem to collect from grocery or Target shopping. I wonder if I could change over to cloth or string bags on a regular basis. It would benefit the earth, too.

I use reusable bags. I have bought them from Costco, Ikea and 2 different grocery stores. I use mine all the time. I keep them in the trunk of my car and when I empty them at home I put them in the hall closet so I remember to take them back out to the car.

I have about 10 canvas bags that I keep in the back of my van for grocery trips. I only get the plastic ones whenever I need trash bags for my small trash cans.

I bought a set of pretty lace curtains a while back -- they didn't fit my windows ( they were from a yard sale), so I sewed some grocery bags and added web strips for handles.
They are still going strong after several years, look nice and I get lots of comments, esp. at Aldi's - where we have to buy the grocery bags.

I'm building my stock. I have a couple of canvas bags that I got as a free as an advertisement give away and a couple from the thrift store. I think I'm going to lean towards more mesh type bags for anymore as some stores would prefer to be able to see in them when you carry them in/around the store. I haven't had anyone say anything yet but I'm pretty sure I had undercover security follow me around once.

~I use them at Aldi. I have 8 I made myself from a leaf print sheet. I'm not brave enough to take them to "regular" stores. Though Sunshine's lace bags sound pretty. I wonder if I had a few chic bags if I'd be more excited and confident about using them. Great, another thing on my sewing to-do list!~

I have a combo of canvas and thermal bags (old pizza delivery cases that I bought at the thrift store). I keep them in the car. Never had a problem with anyone at a grocery store- but we always bag items ourselves.

I frequently do shop at Aldi, so that wouldn't be so difficult. But, at Target and Cub foods, I would have to be braver. Maybe if I keep a stash in the car, I'd always be prepared.
