Do you attend your high school reunions?
The "Who were you in high school" thread got me thinking about how many people actually go to their reunions. My first one is coming up next year, but I went to my husband's a few years ago. It was awful. Seriously, I wanted to stab myself in the eye with a cocktail weenie. At this point, I can't imagine going to any of mine.
Has anyone not gone and regretted it? Or maybe went and had a great time?~Amanda~

Dh and I graduated from the same HS one year apart (him in 1990 and me in 1991). We went to his 10 year and I did not enjoy it very much. Since we dated all through HS it was not like I didn't already know everyone there. It seemed to be HS all over again. I loved HS the first time around but had no desire to live it all over again. At the reunion it was the same cliques staying together, the ones who never really fit in were trying to find a group to hang with, nothing had really changed.
We opted not to go to my 10 year. I figured if there was anyone I wanted to see I would have kept in touch with them. We also did not to go to his 15 year. His brother and his wife also graduated with DH and they were at the 15 year reunion and we do not want to ever see them again - just another reason we chose not to go - without any regrets.
We still live in the same neighborhood that we lived in through HS. Most of our kids' friends are the children of people we went to HS with. We already have a good group that we stay in contact with through our kids' sports and activites. Both of our graduating classes had between 500-600 students and 90% of those I could go the rest of my life without seeing again.DD (19)

No. I went to the 5yr reunion and it was the same as HS. The 15yr is coming up and my girlfriend is trying to talk me into going with her, but I already keep intouch with the people that mean something to me.

Never went & won't. I went to 3 different HS (NY, CA & LA) last change was in the middle of my senior year, no fun.
Can't believe next year will be 30 years since I graduated HS, this mean I'm getting older LMAO?!

There has only been one so far. I did not go. We had *just* moved back to NY from AL like two days before the reunion was scheduled. Plus it was EXPENSIVE!! Just the get together was $50...for a DJ and snacks above the volunteer fire hall

None of the activities were something I was interested in either. It was another $50-80 to do golfing, white water rafting, or something else I can remember.
THEN it was $15 PER PERSON for a potluck bbq at the local park (read: free admission).
Yeah, I don't think I missed much.
Dh's 30yr reunion should be this summer. He hasn't heard squat about it, I know he would like to go. We only live a few hours from his hometown.

I have never been to one of my high school reunions (class of 79) but have gone to all of my band reunions. Our school had 2 awesome bands the Blue Band 10th graders and the Band of Gold 11th and 12th graders. We went all over the world competing in tournaments and I had the time of my life. Our band has gathered many times including a mass gathering for the director when he passed away. Since he was the director from the 60's to the 80's he touched alot of lives. At times the both bands totally over 500 kids a year. These gatherings are always alot of fun. But just like in school we were a seperate group and still do our own thing.
As for Dh's reunions they are held every 5 years and are mass reuinons. He graduated from Mountain Mission School in Grundy, Va, A town you gotta be going to to get to. It was a combination school, home and church. He lived there ffom age nine til eighteen. There gatherings are also all inclusive. If you ever went to the school your welcome at a Homecoming. You didn't have to graduate to be welcome back. They are also alot of fun as these kids are family with each other.
Guess I'm lucky my reuinons are different from you'alls.

I have never been to mine and don't plan to attend any of them. I still have friends from high school that I see almost every day, so it is no big deal to me to attend a reunion.

Can't Edit:
I could see if there were only a few kids in my graduating class...less people = less spreading out of the costs.
But there were over 200 people in my graduating class.
